Nushrratt Bharrucha Reacts On Not Getting Roles Despite Hits, 'Shraddha, Sonakshi Un Darwazon Pe..'

Nushrratt Bharrucha is among the most talented actresses in the Hindi film industry who rose to fame for playing versatile and challenging roles. The new-age actress never shies away from experimenting in her on-screen roles. From Pyaar Ka Punchnama to Dream Girl and Chhorii, Nushrratt has entertained the audiences with exemplary roles. However, fans are often curious as to why they don't get to see the actress in films frequently. In a recent interview, Nushrratt Bharuccha opened up about how she hasn't received adequate work opportunities from Bollywood compared to her contemporaries from popular filmy families. 

Nushrratt Bharuccha reveals she doesn't have adequate work opportunities despite two hits

Nushrratt Bharuccha is on a promotional spree for her upcoming film, Chhorii 2. As a part of the campaign, she sat down for an interview with Shubhankar Mishra. During the conversation, the actress shared that one of her friends is a producer and writer who once asked her why she isn't getting more work offers from the industry. It stunned the actress, who had never heard anything like that, leaving her speechless. She said:

"I had a friend of mine who's a producer and writer. He messaged me and said, 'How are you not flooded with offers? How are producers not calling you?' I was also shocked. I was like, that's very odd to hear from someone — but thik hai. Mujhe khud hi nahi pata iski kya wajah.”

For those unaware, Nushrratt Bharuccha made her debut in 2010, wherein Sonakshi Sinha debuted with Dabangg, and Shraddha stepped into showbiz with Teen Patti. However, the career graph of the other actresses has continued to rise in contrast to Nushrratt. When asked about the same, the actress explained that those actresses have an advantage since they come from prominent families and know people inside showbiz, unlike her. In her words:

"They definitely have an advantage. They know the industry, they know people. If not them, their parents do. Toh hota kya hai, woh un jagah pe pahunch jaate hain jahan main pahunch nahi paati. Woh un darwazon pe khatkhata sakte hain jahan ka mujhe address bhi nahi pata shayad. Ye bahut practical problem hai, but ye real hai.”

In the same conversation, Nushrratt Bharuccha shared that after the success of her debut film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, she wanted to message a filmmaker about her intention to work with him. But she didn't have his contact number, so she contacted Kabir Khan, who made it happen. Nushrratt admitted that she doesn't want to call others' nepo kids', but they have an advantage, and things are automatically different for outsiders in the industry. Despite everything, she is grateful to work with filmmakers like Luv Rajan, Hansal Mehta and Vishal Furia, who chose to work with her again. Nushrratt stated:

"When I did Pyaar Ka Punchnama, I wanted to message a director I really wanted to work with, but number kahan se laun? How do I meet that person? Uss waqt, I texted Kabir Khan. He replied, and that made my month. He said, 'Milne aajao.' I was so happy. It's so tough to get a number and a meeting. There's a very tough road for people not from the industry. I don't want to call them 'nepo kids' because I don't like that term. Sab actors hain."

Nushrratt Bharuccha is the daughter of a businessman and made her debut in acting with a small role in the 2002 show, Kittie Party. She made her film debut with Jai Santoshi Maa and featured as a lead actress for the first time in Love Sex Aur Dhokha. The actress rose to fame with her roles in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, Chhalaang and more. Nushrratt will be next seen in the sequel of her popular series, Chhorii with Soha Ali Khan.
