Ozzy Osbourne, who rose to fame as the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath and went on to become one of rock music's most iconic figures, had bid a farewell to the world on July 22, 2025. Although the cause of his demise was not revealed, he was dealing with Parkinson's disease and died surrounded by his loved ones. After more than a week of mourning and a deeply personal ceremony, he has finally been laid to rest in a private ceremony, which was held in accordance with his personal wishes and eccentric spirit. However, it was the choice of his burial site that left fans emotional.

Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest on July 31, 2025, at a unique spot that honoured his wishes and broke from convention. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, made sure that she fulfilled his desire regarding his burial site by laying him to rest in the grounds of his mansion in Buckinghamshire, England. A private service took place at the 250-acre property with Ozzy's family and close friends in attendance. TMZ shared pictures of his mansion.

Ozzy's wife, Sharon, was joined by their children, Jack, Kelly, and Aimee. In addition, his older children from his first marriage also joined in. Apart from them, The Daily Mail reported that some longtime collaborators and friends of the music legend, like Elton John, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, members of Metallica, and his Black Sabbath bandmates, arrived to pay their final respects to Ozzy. A special floral arrangement was made to pay bold tribute to him. Moreover, British singer, Yungblud, who is a close family friend of the Osbournes, gave a heartfelt reading at the ceremony.

Ozzy Osbourne once shared his wishes about his funeral and burial 

Ozzy Osbourne had shared his desires about his funeral several years ago. In an interview in 2011 with The Times, the rock legend insisted that he wanted his funeral to be more like a celebration than an emotional event. He desired his family to hold a gathering full of laughter, pranks, and good moments. Furthermore, in his autobiography, I Am Ozzy, the Prince of Darkness revealed that he had shared his desires about his burial site with his wife, Sharon. Sharing his vision, Ozzy penned:

"Eventually, death will come, like it comes to everyone. I've said to Sharon: 'Don't cremate me, whatever you do.' I want to be put in the ground, in a nice garden somewhere, with a tree planted over my head. A crabapple tree, preferably, so the kids can make wine out of me and get pissed out of their heads."

Fans lined up the streets in Birmingham to pay final respects to Ozzy

Before the day of his burial, Ozzy Osbourne's family held a funeral procession for him. It witnessed a massive gathering of fans who lined up the streets of Birmingham on both sides of his hometown to pay their final tribute when Ozzy's funeral cortège passed through the city. His wife, Sharon, and four kids, Aimee, Kelly, Jack, and Louis, presented a unique front and expressed gratitude to Ozzy's admirers for their love and support.
