The eve of April 22, 2025, brought the darkest clouds for the entire country, with the news of a heinous attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir. A total of twenty-six people fell victim to a terrorist attack. However, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had announced that those who lost their lives would be avenged in rightful measures, and he has come through. Now, the victim, Shubham Dwivedi's widow, Aishanya Dwivedi, has come forward and reacted to the strike that took place in the early hours of May 7, 2025.

After the precision strike, 'Operation Sindoor' took place on May 7, 2025, the Pahalgam victim, Shubham Dwivedi's widow, Aishanya Dwivedi, came forward and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During a conversation with the media, Aishanya revealed that the moment she saw the name of the operation, she looked at her late husband's picture and started crying. For the unversed, Aishanya and Shubham had gotten married in February 2025, and were on a family holiday.

Aishanya Dwivedi was among the tourists present in Pahalgam when the attack took place. She lost her husband during the tragic attack and has responded to the government's response to the same. During a media interaction, she thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking action and called it revenge on their behalf. She also added how her late husband would be at peace now that he has been avenged. She was quoted as saying:

"The moment I read the name 'Operation Sindoor', I saw Shubham's photo and I was crying... On some level, we feel that this was revenge taken on our behalf. Wherever my husband is, he will be at peace today."

About 'Operation Sindoor'

It was in the early hours of May 7, 2025, when the Ministry of Defence made a press release, sharing about 'Operation Sindoor'. They revealed that at 1:44 am, they had carried out a precision strike and attacked none terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They shared that these were the hideouts from where attacks against India were planned and directed. The release also clarified that their actions had been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature.

The ministry further added that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted during the strike, and India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and methods of execution. Furthermore, the attack was in response to the barbaric attack that took place on April 22, 2025, where 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen were murdered. As for now, a press conference has been scheduled to share further information regarding the strike, and several airports in north India have been shut down.

More about the Pahalgam attack

The attack occurred in the late afternoon of April 22, 2025, after unidentified gunmen opened fire on innocent civilians in Pahalgam's Baisaran in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the reports, there have been 26 deaths. Security forces rushed to the area of attack after gunshots were heard. Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his trip to Dubai and returned to India after being informed of the attack.
