Yasir Hussain is among the most acclaimed actors, directors, screenwriters and hosts in the Pakistani entertainment industry. In a conversation with Something Haute, Yasir Hussain revealed that the quality of drama in India and Pakistan is below average. He even critiques Pakistani makers for marketing repetitive plots and representing toxicity. In the same conversation, Yasir Hussain bashed Indian serials and called them intehaayi zeher.
In a conversation with Something Haute Yasir was criticising Pakistani dramas and said that the quality of the content in Pakistan is not up to the mark. The host then asked him if the dramas are so bad, then why is the entire world watching Pakistani dramas, to this Yasir said that no one but the Indians watches Pakistani dramas. Only because their own serials are of terrible quality. Apart from them, no other nation watches Pakistani dramas. In Yasir’s words:
“India ke paas apna drama dekha hai aapne? Matlab woh nations jinke paas ghatiya quality ka drama hai woh humare drama zaroor dekh rahe hain. Uske alawa kon dekh raha hai aapka drama? Aapka drama sirf wahi log dekh rahe hai jinke paas apna drama behtar nahi hai. India mein toh intehaayi zeher drama hai. Hamara drama unse toh behtar hai isiliye woh dekh rahe hain.”

Yasir Hussain added that Indians understand our language and Pakistani dramas are better than their own serials, which is why they watch their content. He further said that no other nation watches Pakistani dramas, but his countrymen are under the illusion that their content is world famous. The host then interrupted him and said that there is a language barrier. Yasir countered the question with why we watch Turkish, European and Korean dramas if language is the main obstacle.

In the same interview, Yasir Hussian added that in Pakistan, the craft of acting is no longer appreciated, which is why he does not want his son to join the industry in the future. In this industry, the actor’s job is to act and perform the craft, but the makers repeatedly offer bad projects to the actors. For the unversed, Yasir himself is an actor and director and his wife, Iqra Aziz is an acclaimed Pakistani actress. Yasir further added:
“Our industry is not a good industry. I don’t want my son to join this industry. Is this a job? An actor’s job is to do good acting. It’s a field where you should promote your craft, but consistently, you are being offered bad work.”
