Pakistani actress, Ushna Shah is one of the most talented actresses in Lollywood and she recently graced our screens with her drama Bheegi Palkein. The actress debuted in 2013 with the drama, Mere Khwabon Ka Diya and has since made a mark for herself in the industry. Ushna was even a part of Pakistan’s critically acclaimed drama, Parizaad, and impressed everyone with her phenomenal acting and voice modulations.
The actress is currently promoting her film, Chikkar and is doing multiple interviews and shows for the same. The film also features Pakistani superstar, Usman Mukhtar in a prominent role. The story revolved around a police officer who not only embarks on solving cases but also brings about social justice.

Ushna Shah is known to pick up realistic and social dramas and movies which carry progressive messages. Recently, the actress appeared on Maliha Rehman’s YouTube talk show and shared insights into her upcoming film, Chikkar. On asking what she would like to eradicate from Pakistani dramas, Ushna added that she would like to remove specific forced happily ever-endings from dramas. She said that now, looking back, she regrets doing certain dramas where they showed regressive mentalities and justified them. On top of that, they even normalised staying married in toxic environments when divorce and moving out should have been the ideal approach.
In the same interview, Ushna added that her mother was a divorcee who did three jobs to support her family, and she is truly an inspiration to her. Ushna revealed that her mother worked in advertising, the BBC, and radio and was also a writer who went to extreme lengths to support Ushna and her sisters.

She added that marriages are very important and that one should do everything in one's power to nurture the relationship but should not torture themselves for it. Now that she is married, she will do anything in her power to protect her marriage but will also support those who want to break free of a toxic marriage. She concluded by saying that divorces are not something negative and should not be looked down upon.
