Pakistani Celebrities Step Up To Lay Humaira Asghar To Rest As Family Refuses, 'We Stand Together..'

The death of Pakistani model and actress, Humaira Asghar Ali has sent shockwaves among people. As per recent reports, she had died around October 2024; however, her decomposed body was found recently on July 7, 2025. The 32-year-old's death went undetected for months, hinting towards isolation. Amidst this, the late actress's family has also refused to claim the body and lay her to rest. However, many celebrities from Pakistan's film and TV fraternity have come forward to perform the last rites.

As per reports, officials contacted Humaira Asghar Ali's father and brother to inform them about her demise so that they could claim the body. Her brother reportedly was the first one to be reached out to, however, he asked them to contact their father instead. Asghar Ali, Humaira's father and a retired army doctor, allegedly refused to claim the body and said:

"We have cut off ties with her long ago. Do whatever you want with her body. We will not receive it."

Amidst this cold shoulder from the deceased's family, Pakistan's film and TV fraternity has volunteered to lay Humaira to rest. The Actors Collective of Pakistan (ACT), a trade body representing the country's actors, has come forward and announced that they will perform the last rites of their colleague with 'respect and dignity that every human being deserves'. ACT said in their statement:

"As the Actors Collective of Pakistan, we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure she is laid to rest with the dignity and respect every human being deserves. In moments like these, we are reminded that we are more than colleagues — we are a family. In our family, no one is forgotten. No member is left behind. We stand together — in life, in loss, and in remembrance."

Popular actress, Sonya Hussyn, was the first celebrity who said that if no relatives of the deceased show up, then she will take up the duty of laying Humaira to rest. After this, Yasir Hussain and Yashma Gill also volunteered to perform the last rites. The former said, "The industry that caused the deceased’s family to disown her, that same industry is here for her". Yashma, on the other hand, also implored a few relatives of the late actress to come forward if they wished to assume the responsibility of the burial. She also revealed that the police officials have agreed that those from the industry wanting to take up responsibility can be involved.

Recent updates on Humaira Asghar Ali's death

Recent reports shared by Arab News suggest that instead of dying two or three weeks ago, as was first speculated, Humaira had been dead since October 2024. Which means that the actress's death had gone unnoticed for nearly 6 months. A police official stated that Humaira's phone had last been active in October. Expired food from six months ago had been found in the food as well. Humaira had not been alive after October 2024, officials sources shared with the news portal. During these 6 months, no one had reached out to the actress.

The only reason her death was discovered was because Humaira's landlord had filed a complaint in court, as a result, her door had been broken by an officer to legally evict her from the house over non-payment of dues. Post-mortem reports revealed that the body was in advanced stages of decomposition when it was discovered. The probable isolation and abandonment that Humaira faced from her family and fraternity have become a topic of discussion.

May Humaira Asghar Ali's soul rest in peace.
