Pakistani fashion designer, host, and actor, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin recently appeared on Public TV’s talk show, Public Demand, where he revealed his future projects. Hassan Sheheryar Yasin is also popularly known as HSY. The fashion designer and actor has also been a part of several movies and telefilms like Pehli Si Muhabbat, Ishrat Made in China and more.
Apart from being a prominent member of the entertainment fraternity, Hassan Sheheryar Yasin is also quite vocal about his political stance. As Hassan Sheheryar Yasin is a fashion designer, the talk show hosts discussed the nitty grits of sustainable fashion with him. On the way, the name of popular India artist, Urfi Javed popped up. While the other guests on the show mocked fun at Urfi’s sartorial choices, HSY announced that he isn’t aware of Urfi. He consciously avoids Indian artists, as he feels like that they should give less importance to Indian entertainment artists.

“Mein surprisingly Indian industry mei kya ho raha hai uske bare mei thoda kaam janta hu. Unfortunately, mujhe lagta hai jitni attention who humpe dal te hai, utni attention hum unpe dale, naa hone k barabar. Mein zada concertrate karta hu apni Pakistani industry pe. Mujh lagta hai, izzat se izzat milti hai. Jo humme izzat na bakshte unhe hum izzat kyu bakshe.”

Public Demand's host, Mohsin Abbas Haider, then credited Indians for respecting their artists like Atif Aslam, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Noor Jahan and more. He added that many actresses have also worked in India and earned much respect there. Hassan Sheheryar Yasin said that there was a time when artists from both countries used to work in each other's industries, but in the current Indian government's realm, that has stopped.
HSY further explained that he has nothing against the artists as he has immense respect for them, but the Indian government there is to be blamed. He seemed miffed by the fact that India stopped the artistry exchange and felt it was very disrespectful. Hassan Sheheryar Yasin also added:
“Ek waqt that jab humara saare celebrities woha (India) kaam karte thhe, aur woha ke log yeh aate thhe. Isme mei logo ki baat nehi kaar raha, mei mulk ki baat nehi kaar raha. Mujhe artist to artist koi masla nehi hai. Ubke woha se jab awaz ayi ki inlogo ke saath kaam nehi kia jaye kyunki yeh Pakistani hai, use mujhe bohot masla hai.”
