One of the most popular sitcoms, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making it to the headlines for a long time now. Now and then, the cast of TMKOC have blasted the show's makers, soon after leaving the show and accused the makers of mistreating the actors and actresses on the set. Now, Palak Sindhwani broke her silence about the ill-treatment she had faced while doing the show. She has accused the producer, Asit Kumarr Modi and his team of mental harassment and not providing her with her Rs. 21 lakh dues. In a recent interview, Palak shared how this mistreatment led her to break down in her makeup room.
Palak Sindhwani played the role of ‘Sonu Bhide’ in TMKOC. The buzz was rife that the actress was given a legal notice for failing to fulfil an obligation that was a part of the team's contract. Well, while Palak and Asit Kumarr Modi's team first dismissed all such claims, later, the production house confirmed it, leading Palak to break her silence on the same matter. In a recent interview with The Times Of India TV, Palak revealed that the team never discussed any kind of contract with her.

Talking more about it, Palak Sidhwani added that as soon as she expressed her desire to leave the show, the team started treating her unfairly, and at a point, it reached the peak that they accused her of breaching a contract. Palak shared that she was hurt inside, and it was so mentally draining that she would end up crying in her makeup room before the shots. In Palak's words:
"They likely thought I wouldn’t wait until May to leave, so they started treating me unfairly. The exploitation reached its peak when they accused me of breaching the contract. I was affected by the media reports, but I didn’t stay silent. I kept asking when I could officially resign. It was draining—I was hurt inside and mentally affected. I would cry in my makeup room and then pull myself together for the shots."
In the same interview, Palak Sindhwani revealed that she was hurt as she had dedicated five years to this show, and she had faced these kinds of mistreatments. The actress added that she requested a meeting on September 18, and it was only then she got to know that she had breached a contract. The actress also added how she was threatened that her social media account would be deleted and she wouldn't be able to do brand endorsements ever again. Palak stated that she tried to make them understand that other actors also do brand endorsements, but she received some harsh language. Palak can be quoted as saying:
"During the September 18 meeting, they even threatened me, saying they could delete my Instagram account in one go because they have such a strong team, and that I wouldn’t be able to shoot brand endorsements anymore. I pointed out that almost all the actors are doing brand endorsements, so why was I the only one being accused of breaching the contract? They responded that their contracts are different and I shouldn't compare myself with others. They started speaking to me rudely, using the same harsh language."
In the concluding segment of the interview, Palak Sindhwani shared that the last week was extremely traumatising for her as she was asked to be on the set for 12 hours straight while the actual work took only 30 minutes. The actress said she was not well healthwise and asked for a leave, but she was not granted the same. Palak added that for the same reason, she couldn't reply to the legal notice.
