Smriti Mandana's To Be Bhabhi, Palak Muchhal Gives Statement On Her Brother, Palash's Wedding

Indian Women's Cricket Team's Vice Captain, Smriti Mandhana, and her fiancé, Palash Muchhal, have put their wedding on hold indefinitely. This is because Smriti's dad, Shriniwas Mandhana, was hospitalised after he developed pain on the left side of his chest on the day of Smriti's wedding. Now, Palash's sister, Palak, has addressed the postponement of her brother, Palash's, wedding with Smriti. She has requested fans to give the family privacy, which was required.

Smriti Mandana's would-be-sister-in-law, Palak Muchhal, confirms wedding on hold

Palash Muchhal's sister, Palak, a while back, took to Instagram Stories to share that her brother's wedding had been postponed. This is because of Smriti Mandana's dad's current health condition. Palak also requested that everyone, especially the media, respect their privacy during this time. Her note read:

"Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time (sic)."

For the unversed, Palash and Smriti were all set to get married in her hometown, Sangli, Maharashtra. Palak, Palash's sister, was fully involved in all the pre-wedding events until, on November 23, 2025, Smriti's father suffered a health scare. He was admitted to a hospital in Sangli, due to which the pre-wedding festivities came to a halt. Palash and Smriti were all set to tie the knot, but had not seen the unforeseen incident that occurred.

What had happened to Smriti Mandana's dad?

It was the morning of Smriti and Palash's wedding when Shriniwas's condition worsened while he was having breakfast. Smriti's manager shared with her fans that the wedding was postponed indefinitely, due to the current condition of her father. Shriniwas is under observation, though his condition is not critical. Smriti's manager, Tuhin Mishra, shared:

"Today in the morning when he was having breakfast, Smriti Mandana's father, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana, got unwell. We waited for a while. We thought that maybe it's normal, he will be fine. But he was getting worse. So we thought, let's not take any risk, so we called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. Now he is under observation."

Smriti's manager further shared that she is very close to her dad and has decided to indefinitely postpone the marriage until he gets well. Her father is under observation, and the doctor has said that he will have to stay in the hospital until he recovers. Smriti is clear; she wants to see her father well and then get married to the love of her life.

Smriti Mandana's fiancé, Palash Muchhal, was also reportedly admitted to a hospital in Sangli due to some viral infection and severe acidity. Palash's mom, Amita, earlier in an interview with the Hindustan Times, shared that the ill health of his would-be father-in-law came as a shock to him. Due to this reason, he had made the decision to postpone the wedding. Amita also shared that Palash could not stop crying, looking at the ill health of Smriti's father. Due to this reason, he came under stress, had to be given IV drips with an ECG being done. He had to be in the hospital for four hours. Amita shared:

"Palash ko uncle se bahut zyada attachment hai… Smriti se zyada yeh dono close hain. Jab unko hogaya toh Smriti se phele Palash ne decision liya ke usko abhi phere nahi karne jab tak uncle thik nahi ho jaate."
