Pankaj Tripathi's team shared the news of Hemwanti Devi's passing two days after the tragic incident. The OMG 2 actor was by his mother's side in her final moments, and the last rites were performed on Saturday, November 1, 2025, amid close family members, relatives, and friends. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time to mourn the loss. The statement confirming Pankaj Tripathi's mother's demise read:

"We are deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, Smt. Hemwanti Devi. She lived a long and fulfilling life, and her blessings and memories will remain with us forever. We humbly request everyone to keep her in their thoughts and prayers. We also request the media and well-wishers to respect our privacy during this period of grief and allow us time to mourn in peace."

What was the cause of Pankaj Tripathi's mother's death?

According to the official statement released by Pankaj's side, the actor's mother was 89 years old and had been unwell for some time. She reportedly passed away peacefully in her sleep at the family's ancestral home in Belsand, Gopalganj district, Bihar. Although the exact cause of her death has not been revealed, reports hint at Hemwanti Devi's passing due to natural age-related physical troubles.

In an interview with India Today in 2024, Pankaj Tripathi shared that his mother lived a simple life in their ancestral village of Belsand, Bihar. As per him, she never fully understood his profession or his widespread popularity. He mentioned that when she saw him on TV, her primary concern was his health, saying things like, "My mother watches me on TV and says, 'Call him and tell him he has become very thin, he is not eating and sleeping properly'". He described her preference for a quiet life, saying that whenever she visited him in Mumbai, she would soon insist on returning to her simple village life, away from the spotlight. Pankaj Tripathi told India Today:

"My mother was here recently with me and forced us to send her back. She wants that simple life. The other day, she told me that someone had come home asking about me, and wondered if I was too popular. She still doesn't know what I do, and I don't even find the reason that she has to."

Pankaj Tripathi's upcoming projects

Pankaj Tripathi has several projects in the pipeline, including Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai. This film, directed by Anubhav Sinha, is currently in post-production and is scheduled for release in 2025. His most-awaited project is Mirzapur: The Film. Following the success of the web series, Mirzapur, the story is being adapted for the big screen, with Tripathi reprising his iconic role as 'Kaleen Bhaiya'. The film is currently in production and is expected to be released in 2026. His other movies include Parivarik ManuRanjan and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do.
