Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most talented and versatile actors in Bollywood. The actor leaves no stone unturned to win the hearts of his fans, courtesy of his jaw-dropping acting skills, charming personality, and down-to-earth nature. The actor garnered much recognition for the crime drama, Gangs of Wasseypur. Since then, he has not looked back. It was back in 2023 when Pankaj even bagged the 69th National Awards for his amazing role in the much-loved film, Mimi. Moreover, the last year had been tough for the actor personally, as he had lost his father forever. And yet again, he is going through a rough patch, as reportedly one of his family members has passed away while another one is in a critical situation.
If the reports are to be believed, Pankaj Tripathi's sister, Sarita Tiwari, and her husband, Rajesh Tiwari faced a fatal car accident on April 20, 2024, around 4 pm. According to the reports, while travelling to Chittaranjan, West Bengal, from Kamalpur in Gopalganj, Bihar, Pankaj Tripathi's sister and his brother-in-law faced a fatal accident. The accident reportedly took Pankaj Tripathi's brother-in-law's life, while the actor's sister sustained some serious injuries.

As per a report by HT, after Sarita Tiwari and her husband, Rajesh Tiwari's car crashed near Nirsa Market Chowk, they were hurriedly taken to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. While Rajesh was declared dead, Sarita is currently in the surgical ICU. For those who don't know, Pankaj's brother-in-law was employed by Indian Railways, and he had his post in Chittaranjan. According to the reports, Rajesh was travelling back to Chittaranjan from his village when this accident took place. On the other hand, Pankaj has yet to confirm or react to such reports.
For the unversed, it was back on August 21, 2023, when Pankaj Trptahi's family issued a statement to confirm his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari's demise at the age of 99. A few days after that, Pankaj also inaugurated a school library in Gopalganj, Bihar, in memory of his late father. Moreover, the actor also received the 69th National Award after his father's demise. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Pankaj stated that while receiving the award, he was feeling mixed emotions as he had lost his father. Talking more about his late father, Pankaj mentioned how the former's values, ethics, and principles helped him shape himself as an actor and as an individual.

Pankaj Tripathi first met his wife, Mridula, at his sister's wedding when they were in class eleven and nine, respectively. Upon watching Mridual for the very first time, the actor decided to spend his life with her. However, destiny wanted to be together, so after a whole lot of obstacles, they stuck to each other until they got married in 2004. Mridula had been there for Pankaj when he needed her the most, and she was his support system. Acknowledging his wife's contribution, Pankaj once stated there are two wives in his home and mentioned, 'Ek meri wife aur main unki wife.'
