'Paradise' Season 2 Ending Explained: Location Of 'Alex' And Identity Of 'User X' Revealed In Finale

Paradise Season 2 was one of the most highly anticipated series of 2026. Ever since the show premiered on Hulu, it has become clear to viewers that Season 2 would be more than a typical political thriller. From a potential second disaster to whether 'Xavier Collins' can find his wife, 'Teri,' the show constantly brought up more problems. However, it quickly became a fan favourite for its heartwarming storylines, action, and adventure. Well, after months, Paradise Season 2, which has 8 episodes in total, finally came to an end. The finale episode was released on March 30, 2026, and is now streaming on Hulu. Amid this, here's Paradise Season 2 ending explained. (Spoilers ahead). 

'Alex' is revealed as a quantum computer  

It was in the third episode of Paradise Season 2 that we were introduced to 'Professor Henry Miller' (Patrick Fischler), who is the head of Vestige Quantum. Together with his genius protégé, 'Dylan' (Thomas Doherty), better known as 'Link,' he created a technology that 'Sinatra' was ready to do anything for. Now, in the finale titled Exodus, it is finally revealed to viewers what the technology in question is. Well, it's actually a quantum computer controlled by an AI named 'Alex.' For those unaware, the AI was named such in honour of 'Henry's' wife (Gwen Holloway).  

Throughout season 2, the show uses quantum computing buzzwords such as “all-to-all platform,” “optical tweezers,” and “neutral atoms” in an effort to make it clear to viewers why ‘Dylan’s’ early prototype of what we know as ‘Alex’ today is as impressive as can be. Once the audience gets past the quantum noise, they realise what ‘Alex’ is truly capable of, especially predicting any future problems within milliseconds.  

‘Alex’s’ speed is exactly what draws ‘Sinatra’ in as she wants to use it to solve the climate crisis. However, ‘Alex’s’ creator, ‘Henry’ himself, has misgivings about his creation. This is because the more advanced ‘Alex’ gets, the more it tries to manipulate time, resulting in stage anomalies. We see that ‘Henry’ winds up dead because he hesitates to continue working on ‘Alex.’ Additionally, it becomes clear that the reason why ‘Dylan’ wants to kill ‘Alex’ is because of its time manipulation power. However, it isn't an easy task as in the hands of ‘Sinatra,’ ‘Alex’ has grown more advanced than ever.  

Where is ‘Alex’ located now in Paradise? 

It is revealed that 'Alex' is located 100 miles from the set of Paradise and in a second bunker hidden directly beneath the Dever airport. In the finale, we are introduced to the person who supervised it, a mysterious figure named ‘Dr. Chase' (Simon Templeman). When ‘Sinatra’ pays him and ‘Alex’ a quick visit, he tells her that ‘Alex’ can communicate with them even though it hasn't been activated. From accurately predicting weather events to earthquakes and even ‘Sinatra’s’ arrival, the machine does it all.  

Interestingly, ‘Alex’ has also printed out a set of numbers, which are revealed to be two sets of coordinates. While one of them points to a mountain in Colorado, the other points towards the Denver airport. These are assumed to be the coordinates of the bunkers. A message on top of the numbers showcases that ‘Alex’ is waiting for a user named ‘X.’ It is worth noting that ‘X’ is the nickname of ‘Xavier Collins,’ a fact that ‘Sinatra’ soon realises. She also realises that it is this user ‘X’ who is capable of activating ‘Alex.’  

'Link' is revealed to be ‘Sinatra’s’ son, ‘Dylan’ 

The character we knew as ‘Link’ in the past episodes is revealed to be ‘Dylan.’ Well, he is actually named ‘Dylan,’ the same as ‘Sinatra’s’ late son. Interestingly, they even share the same birthday. Well, if you are thinking that's a coincidence, you are wrong. 'Sinatra' is confident that this ‘Dylan’ is actually her son, especially after realising how ‘Alex’ plays with time. She tells ‘Dr. Chase', “I cannot explain it, and it doesn't make sense, but somehow, I'm certain.”
