Parag Tyagi Returns To Television 8 Months Post His Wife, Shefali Jariwala's Untimely Death

The untimely death of Shefali Jariwala, who was widely known as the 'Kaanta Laga Girl', has left a deep scar in the hearts of her family, friends and fans. Shefali’s death at the age of 42 has left his husband, Parag Tyagi, heartbroken. Her last rites were performed by her husband, Parag Tyagi, her dad, Satish Jariwala and her sister, Shivani Jariwala, on June 28, 2025, at the Oshiwara Hindu Crematorium, Mumbai. Parag Tyagi returns to TV after an 8-month hiatus

Parag Tyagi, the husband of late actress, Shefali Jariwala, returned to television 8 months after her untimely demise. On February 1, 2026, Parag took to his Instagram handle and shared a glimpse from his upcoming TV series. According to his post, the show name is Chandanbala. Sharing the work update, Parag wrote:

"Coming soon ….. Chandanbala …#shefalijariwala #blessed #love #new."

Netizens' reaction to Parag Tyagi's work update

Soon after Parag shared the work update on his Instagram handle, netizens showered love in the comment section. Shefali Jariwala’s close friend, Aarti Singh, wrote, "All the best bhaiya." A fan of the couple wrote, "Shefali ji aapka kam dekh ke khush ho rahi hogi. Shefali ji yahi chahti hogi ki aap zindagi me aage badhe aur tarakki karo. Vo hamesha aapke sath hai aur hamesha sath rahegi." Another user commented, "Bahut, he achha lag Raha hai ki. Aap phir se tv par dekhenge."

Shefali Jariwala passed away at the age of 42

The sudden demise of Shefali on June 27, 2025, had left the whole entertainment industry mourning. According to renowned journalist, Vickey Lalwani, the 42-year-old actress was taken to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai in the late hours of June 27, 2025. She was declared dead by the hospital authorities. Later, she was taken to the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai for a post-mortem. Several celebrities, Surbhi Chandna, Aarti Singh and YouTuber Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, were grief-stricken by the grave incident.

There were numerous speculations surrounding Shefali Jariwala’s death. Some reports claimed that she used Ozempic to lose weight that caused cardiac arrest. The other reports claimed that anti-ageing treatment caused her death. In a 2025 interview with Mamaraazzi, Parag dismissed the claims. He said:

"Kisine dekha Ozempic hamare ghar mein? Jisne bhi bola. I don’t know. Ozempic aj ke time pe bohot bara pheira chuka hain. Yeh woh log liya karte hain jo over weight hota hai, jinko khane pe control nahi hai. Uska effect aj aur kal milega. Instagram university mein kisine dekha hoga, toh unhone bol diya. This is half-baked information. I want to ask, which of these were anti-ageing medicines? Shefali didn’t want to take multivitamins daily as she would forget them, so she took them through IV drip once a month. These included multivitamins, Vitamin C, collagen, and glutathione, which is one of the best antioxidants."

Several reports claimed that the 'Kaanta Laga Girl' was fasting on the day of her death. In the same interview, Parag revealed that Shefali had kept a fast that day, but she had her food after puja. He mentioned that after having her food, Shefali slept and later ate again. He requested everyone not to spread rumours about the same. He was quoted as saying:

"She did fast that day, but she had food after performing pooja, then slept, and ate again later. It wasn’t like she didn’t eat at all. I don’t know where this fasting story came from. People just picked it up and spread it. I request everyone to find the truth before talking."
