Param Sundari is an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by Tushar Jalota. The film stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. Sidharth plays the role of 'Param' and Janhvi portrays the role of 'Sundari'. The film showcases a cross-regional love story filled with comedy and drama. For the unversed, Param Sundari is scheduled for release on August 29, 2025. Recently, the trailer of the movie was released. Param Sundari's trailer featured Sidharth as 'Param', a Delhi boy and Janhvi as 'Sundari', a classical dancer from Kerala. The love story began when 'Param' met 'Sundari' in Kerala. The trailer showcases the beautiful scenic beauty of Kerala, including the Backwaters. There is a particular monologue of Janhvi that stole the spotlight, where the actress highlighted the South Indian icons like Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Yash, and Allu Arjun. In fact, the 2-minute 40-second video also has the famous dialogue of SRK’s movie, Baazigar, 'Haar kar jeetne waale ko Baazigar kehte hai'. The trailer also gave vibes of movies, Chennai Express and 2 States, known for cross-cultural and cross-regional romances.

Netizens' reaction to Param Sundari's trailer

Ever since the trailer of Param Sundari was dropped on YouTube, netizens have flooded the comment section. Drawing parallels with the old rom-com era of Bollywood, a user wrote, "Wowww....the rom-com era of Bollywood is back. Sid-Janhvi looks promising." Another user commented, "Bollywood's old romcom era is back. Saiyaara stole hearts, and now this. Looks promising." Lauding the chemistry and overall movie trailer, a user wrote, "Sidharth and Janhvi looking cute together. Fresh and promising trailer. Songs are chartbusters. Visuals are amazing. Can't wait for 29th August."

Calling Param Sundari a hit, a user commented, "Wow...now this is real Bollywood. Mazaa aya.. Songs are so melodious.. Sidharth is looking stunning. Janhvi is also good. Ye toh hit hai." The sizzling chemistry between Sidharth and Janhvi has won many hearts. A user wrote, "Sid ka swag + Janhvi ka charm = magic on screen." Another user commented, "The chemistry of Sid n Janhvi is beautiful. When Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra's pairing got trolled due to a 12-year age gap

Earlier this year, in July 2025, Param Sundari's teaser was released. While the song, Pardesiya, sung by Sonu Nigam, became a fan favourite, the pairing of Janhvi and Sidharth raised many eyebrows. The duo shares a 12-year age gap. Many X users think that the new on-screen couple lacks chemistry. Netizens also brought up the example of the on-screen young couple, Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday from Saiyaara. A user wrote, "The chemistries just don’t hit these days. The 12-year age gap between them is so damn visible, man. I guess that's one of the main reasons why Saiyaara did so well, people are starving to see  actual young people on screen again." Another user shared that it is not always about a young couple but a story involving a same-age couple. The comment can be read as:

"I don't think it's necessarily 'Young' people. I think the audience just wants to see believable dynamics. Like, a same-aged couple! Everyone is fed up with this ridiculous fantasy Bollywood has been selling for decades. The audience has moved on & Bollywood needs to catch up."
