'Parasakthi' OTT Release Confirmed, When And Where To Watch Sivakarthikeyan And Ravi Mohan's Film?

The Tamil film, Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, Atharvaa and more hit the theatres on January 10, 2026. The film, directed by Sudha Kongara is a historic political drama. Hours after the film hit the theatres, it received mixed reviews from the audience. Amid that, the OTT platform on which the film will be released has been confirmed. What is the film, Parasakthi about?

Tamil film, Parasakthi is a historical political action drama, which is set in Tamil Nadu during the 1960s. Talking about the plot of the film, it revolves around 'Chezhiyan' (played by Sivakarthikeyan), who was once just an observer of political conflicts, but now is a leader. The film explores his journey from being a coal handler at the Indian Railways to a political leader. His journey also includes his brother, 'Chinnadurai', a student, who is also involved in protests. 

It is worth mentioning that the movie is directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Aakash Bhaskaran. The political drama stars Sivakarthikeyan as 'Chezhiyan' and Atharava as 'Chinnadurai'. The supporting cast includes Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, Rana Daggubati, Basil Joseph and more. For those who do not know, the film was set to release on January 14, 2025; however after the film, Jana Nayagan faced legal issues, the makers of the film preponed the release.

When and where to watch Parasakthi on OTT?

Talking about the digital rights of the movie, Parasakthi, reportedly, the streaming rights of the political drama have been officially bought by Zee5. While the release date has not been confirmed, Parasakthi will allegedly premiere on Zee5 in around 6-8 weeks. According to this, viewers can expect the Tamil film on Zee5 sometime in mid to late February 2026. Apart from OTT, the opening credits of the film confirmed that the film will be released on television on Kalaignar TV. 

Parasakthi received mixed reviews on social media

Within hours of the release of the film, Parasakthi, multiple viewers shared their thoughts on the movie. While some appreciated the narrative and hailed Ravi Mohan and Sivakarthikeyan for their powerful performance, some viewers were left disappointed with the film. One user commented, "#Parasakthi: 4/5 It is just not a movie but an emotion. It’s powerful, engaging and thought- provoking. The struggle & pain of student community against the imposition of Hindi during the 60's is well-depicted by dir @Sudha_Kongara." Another user shared, "#Parasakthi review. First half very boring unable to sit in seats. Music below average very flat no hype scenes. Climax very worst by director. #Sivakarthikeyan average acting, movie was carried out by jayam ravi only. Better to avoid this movie."

Sivakarthikeyan earned Rs. 30 crore for Parasakthi

For those who do not know, Sivakarthikeyan earned a whopping Rs. 30 crore for his role in the movie. On the other hand, Ravi Mohan earned Rs. 16 crore, Atharvaa charged Rs. 2 crore and Sreeleela took home Rs. 1 crore. It is also worth mentioning that the film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 142 crore. If reports are to be believed, the director of the film, Sudha Kongara was given Rs. 15 crore.
