Veteran actor, Paresh Rawal is making headlines once again with his much-anticipated return to the beloved Hera Pheri franchise. After months of speculation, legal notices and co-star tension, Hera Pheri 3 is finally gonna return with the original cast, and Rawal is set to reprise his iconic role as 'Baburao Ganpatrao Apte', the eccentric yet lovable garage owner. Amidst the return to the franchise, Rawal shared details of the beginning of his career and the people who were essential to kickstart his acting life.

Paresh Rawal on how he started to act

In a recent interview with Himanshu Mehta, Paresh Rawal revealed that he had been a notorious kid who was always seeking attention. He would partake in numerous mischievous activities to draw eyeballs and could always be found at the crime scene. This nature of his made him the centre of attention in his class, and whenever there was a dull moment, he would be asked to lighten it up and perform. This light-hearted theatrics soon turned into a genuine interest in acting and performance for the actor.

Paresh Rawal believes every kid has an actor inside of them. It depends on the environment and the nurturing provided to them, which further determines the course of their acting journey. He stressed the importance of support from both family and teachers, as they are the ones who create a strong foundation for a child to grow on.

Paresh Rawal reveals the teacher who supported him the most

Paresh fondly remembered his teacher, his school principal, Mrs Indu Patel, who is now almost 100 years old, who was the one who encouraged him to act. He admitted that he was an extremely mischievous kid, and his parents were often worried and fed up with his antics. However, his Principal would always be on his side to support him. Recalling her, he said:

"I don't know some quality they saw in me; she used to love me. She told me, you are very good at this (at acting), so keep on doing this."

Paresh Rawal's college teachers were equally supportive

Paresh was fortunate enough to have a similar support system in college as well. He graduated from Narsee Monjee College, where he was surrounded by teachers and professors who encouraged and guided him to excel in his field. He fondly remembers names like Dr. U.R. Kohli, Mrs. Rai, and Prof. Govind Jha, all of whom were from his college and a significant part of his initial acting days. He revealed that his career wouldn't have been possible without the support of these people.

Paresh Rawal and his Bollywood journey 

He began his acting career in the 1980s, mainly playing villainous or supporting roles. However, he soon became a recognisable face, working across various genres. His discography ranges from intense dramas like Sardar to comedies like Andaz Apna Apna and, of course, the unforgettable Hera Pheri series. His portrayal of Baburao in Hera Pheri redefined comedy in Bollywood and won the hearts of millions.

Hera Pheri controversy and return

The road to Hera Pheri 3 wasn't without turbulence. The film found itself at the centre of controversy when Paresh Rawal initially announced his departure from the franchise due to creative disagreements. Rumours swirled about casting changes and production delays. However, eventually, the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal are confirmed to return.

Fans are excited and eagerly awaiting Paresh Rawal's return as the iconic 'Babu Rao'.
