Veteran actor, Paresh Rawal is popularly known for his iconic role as 'Baburao Ganpatrao Apte' in the blockbuster Hera Pheri franchise. In the past few months, Paresh made a lot of headlines regarding his exit and re-entry from the upcoming installment of Hera Pheri. Recently, the actor has opened up about the entire incident and how it affected his relationship with the director, Priyadarshan.
In a recent interview with News18, Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor, Paresh opened up about the upcoming film, Hera Pheri. He gave an interesting update on the shooting schedule of the film. In the candid interview, he revealed that everything is in process and the shooting is expected to start next year. In his words:
"It’s a work in progress. We’ll start shooting for the film in February-March next year."
In the same interview, the actor was also asked about his relationship with the director of the film after the former took the decision of leaving the film. To that, he shared that the entire incident has strengthened the bond between him and Priyadarshan. Paresh Rawal was quoted as saying:
"A lot has happened but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai. In fact, what has happened is that it has further solidified our equation. Through all of this, we now know each in a sharper and better way. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. Our relationship is very transparent."
In the same interview, Paresh Rawal was also asked about whether a film will be made that only focuses on his character, 'Baburao Ganpatrao Apte', to which the actor explained that he hasn’t spoken about it with the director. He continued to add that even if something like that is made, he will need characters of Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty as ‘Raju’ and ‘Shyam’. Paresh Rawal shared:
"I’m not a greedy actor. I’m not foolish either. I’m not someone who assumes that duniya meri wajah se chalti hai. Even if a standalone film happens someday, Shyam and Raju also need to be there."
In May 2025, Paresh Rawal made headlines, when he announced his exit from Hera Pheri 3, which reportedly led to a Rs. 25 crore legal notice. Paresh Rawal had mentioned that there was no proper script or agreement and his role as 'Baburao' didn't excite him anymore. However, he later rejoined the film, giving the biggest relief to all his fans.
