Paris Jackson Faces New Challenge In Legal Drama, Involving Dad, Michael Jackson's Estate

Paris Jackson, the daughter of the 'King of Pop', Michael Jackson, is currently facing a new challenge in the ongoing legal drama involving her dad’s estate. For the unversed, on July 11, 2025, Paris raised concerns over irregular payments made by the executors, John Branca and John McClain. After Michael Jackson's death, his huge estate was placed in the hands of Branca and McClain, and the duo has been responsible for managing it for the past 16 years.

Paris Jackson's petition is partially struck down by the court

A retired judge, Mitchell L. Beckloff, who is specially appointed to solve the legal dispute involving Paris Jackson and the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate, has partially struck down Paris’s petition. On November 10, 2025, the decision was taken. According to the retired judge, many of Paris’ legal claims targeted the estate’s own court filings that had been protected under California’s anti-SLAPP law. Although the court didn’t dismiss the possible wrongdoing by the executors, a major portion of her petition has been dismissed.

How did Paris Jackson's legal team react to the following?

Speaking to People, a spokesperson for Paris Jackson shared that the decision to strike down the petition partially is limited to minor procedural matters and doesn’t change the main claims against the executors, John Branca and John McClain. The spokesperson highlighted that Paris will continue working to ensure that her family is being treated fairly. The spokesperson was quoted as saying:

"This order is limited to minor procedural issues and does not change the facts: the pattern of behaviour displayed by the executors and their attorneys raises significant red flags, and Paris will continue working to ensure her family is treated fairly. We will be submitting an updated filing shortly."

What was Paris Jackson's petition all about?

Paris Jackson filed a petition seeking greater accountability and transparency from the executors who have been managing her dad’s huge estate. She asked the court to review a 2010 order that allows John Branca and John McClain to pay their lawyers without waiting for formal court approval. In the petition, Paris shared that she wants the executor duo to follow proper procedure and officially submit all lawyer-payment requests from 2019 to 2023 within 90 days, so that everything can be checked and documented.

According to Paris’s petition, the executors made unusual, irregular payments to lawyers, including 'gifts' of USD 125,000 and USD 250,000 that were not part of any contract. The lack of clear rules and delays in filing have prevented Paris and her siblings from better understanding how the estate’s money is being handled. For the unversed, Paris and her siblings are the beneficiaries of Michael Jackson’s estate.

Paris Jackson's personal life

Paris Jackson’s personal life is far from a fairy tale world. Paris never received her mom’s love and lost her father, Michael Jackson, when she was just 11. At the age of 14, she was s*xually abused by a complete stranger. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Paris revealed this traumatic story and shared how this became one of the main reasons behind her depression.

By the time Paris hit 15, she was already addicted to d**gs. For this reason, she was sent to a therapeutic school in Utah. However, trouble followed her there as well. She was extensively abused in that school. She also battled with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She also tried to end her life. During a conversation with Red Table Talk, Paris opened up about her trauma. She was quoted as saying:

"I experience auditory hallucinations sometimes with camera clicks and severe paranoia, and have been going to therapy for a lot of things, but that included. I'll hear a trash bag rustling and flinch in panic. I think it's standard PTSD."
