Pawan Kalyan is a South Indian actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Recently, he attended the pre-release event of Shankar’s Game Changer, which stars, Ram Charan. Pawan, who is also Ram's uncle, praised his nephew and commended him for being a down-to-earth person despite being surrounded by stardom.
During his appearance, he also reminisced about the struggles of his brother and legendary actor, Chiranjeevi. He revealed that the actor had a tough journey to the top. He recalled that Chiranjeevi would return from the shoot drenched in blood and sweat. He stated:
"Chiranjeevi Garu had a tough journey to the top, but he became the shelter for so many talents that came after him. When I was at home, and he used to return from shooting drenched in blood and sweat, I used to feel very guilty. I used to remove his socks and shoes and see the bruises, as well as the efforts he put into his films to ensure everyone around him had a good life. Ram Charan grew up watching all this, and he never lets success get to his head."
In the same conversation, Pawan Kalyan lauded Ram Charan for his film, Rangasthalam. He shared that he was not surprised by his talent because a Mega Star's son has to be a Global Star. However, he revealed that there was a time when he felt incredibly jealous of Ram for being so highly skilled. He was quoted saying:
"Ram Charan is like a brother to me, and I am very happy and proud of his success. But I am jealous of the way he rides a horse. I don’t get jealous very often. But when I saw him in Magadheera… I was floored. He is someone who came well-prepared in many arts, and I think a lot of people still don’t understand his potential. We were shooting in Kutch (for Gabbar Singh), and I had to ride a horse in a scene. Just because I am called Power Star, it doesn’t mean I know everything. I whispered to the horse that I didn’t know riding, but take this carrot. The horse carried me wonderfully."
Pawan Kalyan also emphasised the importance of supporting other actors. In the presence of Shankar, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Naveen Chandra, and Srikanth, he highlighted how the Telugu film fraternity was large enough to support all actors and for every actor to have fans. He also shed light on the importance of all films working well. He was quoted saying:
"All of you are fans of someone, and you might like one hero more than the other. You might like Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, and Nani. In fact, a lot of people in my family, including my sister, likes Nani films a lot. It comes from what my father said and what Chiranjeevi Garu espoused in his life. He never stopped us from watching any of the actors' films just because he was a huge star. He wanted all films to do well because it helped the economy, and the health of Telugu cinema. These are the lessons that Ram Charan has imbibed too."
Game Changer is set to hit screens worldwide on January 10, 2025. However, it is not the only film to be released during that time. Along with Ram Charan's film, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh's Sankrantiki Vasthunnam are also scheduled to release just a day apart from each other.
