During his four-decade-long run at 93.3 WMMR, Pierre had become a daily part of his listeners' lives, and they will now miss hearing his voice every day. The sudden news about Pierre's death has left his fans and the radio fraternity in shock. It marks the end of an era for the city's rock community. Needless to say, the loss of Robert's familiar voice and daily presence in the lives of many has left an irreplaceable void.

What caused Pierre Robert's death at 70?

According to Beasley Media Group, Pierre Robert was reportedly found dead at his home on October 29, 2025. There is confirmation about the cause of his death. At the same time, his family has made no official statement so far. But authorities have ruled out any foul play, assuring his fans that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

According to Radio Insight, Robert was found dead at his Philadelphia residence on Wednesday morning. In turn, the station was "heartbroken" by the loss of one of its most cherished voices. It leaves several questions around what might have led to his sudden death.

Beasley Media Group expressed its shock at Pierre Robert's demise 

The Beasley Media Group made an emotional tribute to the late host, calling him a "true radio icon" and one of the most recognised personalities. They released a statement in which they revealed that Pierre had joined WMMR in 1881 and hosted the midday show, showcasing his admirable love for music, his listeners, and the city. He was best known for his welcoming 'Greetings, citizens!' salutation and a warm voice. Sharing his views on Pierre's demise, his CEO, Caroline Beasley, added,

"Pierre's unwavering love for music and his deep connection with listeners made him one of radio's most enduring and beloved voices. He will be greatly missed."

Who was Pierre Robert?

For those unaware, Pierre Dover was born in 1955 in North Carolina. He began his career at KSAN-FM in San Francisco before making a cross-country drive to Philadelphia in his beloved van, "Minerva," in 1981. After joining WMMR, he never left them. Each of his shows was a celebration of rock in all its forms, featuring artists such as Led Zeppelin, Springsteen, and others. From his personal life, there is no information about Pierre Robert's marriage, wife, chilfren or net worth. Apart from his reading, Robert was known for his humility and deep care for the community. He co-founded the Manna's Pie in the Sky fundraiser to raise over USD 2 million to tackle hunger relief since 1999. He commerce sho supported causes like the AIDS Walk and local animal rescues.
