The renowned Indian advertising veteran, Piyush Pandey, has passed away at the age of 70. The Padma Shri awardee and creative force behind Ogilvy India died on Friday, October 24, 2025, after suffering from an infection. Piyush, the advertisement mogul, was celebrated for his ability to blend creativity and wit into powerful, relatable narratives that resonated with millions of Indians. As the industry lost a talented individual like him, condolences poured in, and interest in his personal life sparked. Here's a look at his surviving family, including his popular siblings.

Prasoon Pandey is an Indian advertising filmmaker and the founder of Corcoise Films. A creative force in his own right, he often collaborated with his elder brother, Piyush Pandey, on iconic Indian advertising campaigns. Prasoon is highly regarded in his field; he has directed many award-winning commercials. In 2002, he founded his own production company, Corcoise Films. Prasoon and Piyush were a formidable creative team, developing ads for major brands like Fevicol, for which Prasoon directed the popular 'fisherman' commercial.
In 2018, the two brothers became the first Asians to be honoured with the Lion of St. Mark at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, in recognition of their immense contribution to the industry. The two brothers also have a famous sister, Ila Arun. With Ila, Piyush, and Prasoon making a mark in their respective domains, it can be said that talent runs deep in their family.

Ila Arun, the sister of the late Indian advertising legend Piyush Pandey, is a veteran Indian actress, TV personality, and a Rajasthani folk and folk-pop singer. Ila is celebrated for her raw, earthy, and powerful voice. She has a passion for Rajasthani folk music, which she has modernised for a wider audience. Some of her most successful independent singles and albums include Resham Ka Rumal, Vote for Ghagra, Mera Assi Kali ka Ghagra, and Bichuda. Ila Arun has lent her voice to numerous Hindi and other Indian-language songs, working with top music directors such as Laxmikant-Pyarelal and A.R. Rahman.

Ila has also ventured into acting, in significant roles in both commercial and critically acclaimed films. Her most memorable role is that of the shrewd 'Maham Anga' in Jodhaa Akbar (2008). Ila Arun shared a close bond with her brother, Piyush Pandey, and was heartbroken by his death. Sharing the cause of his death with The Indian Express, she said:
"My brother passed away at 5:50 a.m. this morning because of pneumonia complications. He was in the ICU. As a sister, I can say he was a precious brother and the life of our family."
Piyush Pandey redefined India's advertising scene by crafting witty narratives and enjoyable visuals. Among his most famous ad campaigns were those for Fevicol, Cadbury, and Asian Paints. The late Piyush Pandey spent more than four decades with Ogilvy India, where he served as Executive Chairman and Worldwide Chief Creative Officer. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2016. He was also the first Asian to serve as a jury president at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
