Ranveer Singh’s upcoming action thriller film, Dhurandhar has been making a lot of noise online. The film, which is scheduled to release on December 5, 2025, recently faced legal notice from the parents of late Major Mohit Sharma. However, the Delhi High Court dismissed the same and ordered CBFC to carefully review the film. Well, now the CBFC has given a glimpse into the plot of the film and also revealed if Ranveer is playing the role of ‘Major Mohit Sharma’.
Ever since the trailer of the film, Dhurandhar has been released, fans have been waiting to know about the role of Ranveer Singh. For the unversed, the makers have also managed to keep all the details regarding the plot under wraps. However, CBFC gave a green light to the film and mentioned that the runtime of the film is 3 hours and 34 minutes. CBFC also gave insights about the plot and according to the same, the synopsis of the film is:
"Set against the backdrop of the IC-814 hijacking in 1999 and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the film follows India's Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal, who crafts a daring and indomitable mission to infiltrate and dismantle a powerful terrorist network operating out of Pakistan. To execute this high-risk operation, Sanyal recruits an unlikely asset — a 20-year-old boy from Punjab, held captive for committing a revenge-driven crime. Recognising the boy's potential and raw intensity, Sanyal decides to mould him into a weapon capable of penetrating Karachi's ruthless underworld mafia."

Apart from the synopsis, CBFC also confirmed that Ranveer Singh would be playing the role of ‘Hamza’, who is most likely not an Army officer. Rather, he would be playing the role of a spy created by R Madhavan’s character. With this confirmation, CBFC has also shut down all the rumours around Ranveer playing the role of ‘Major Mohit Sharma’ in the action thriller film.

While Aditya Dhar's film is already generating a lot of buzz online, a revelation by the CBFC has just added to the buzz and hype. Recently, the Central Board of Film Certification revealed that Dhurandhar will have a post credit scene of about four minutes. The scene would reportedly set the stage for the sequel of this film. Some reports also suggest that the 4-minute scene would act like the trailer of Dhurandhar 2.

The action film, Dhurandhar is directed by Aditya Dhar and is all set to release on December 5, 2025. Apart from Ranveer Singh (as ‘Hamza’) in the lead, the film also stars R Madhavan (as ‘Ajay Sanyal’), Sanjay Dutt (as ‘Chaudhary Aslam’), Akshaye Khanna (as ‘Rehman Dakait’), Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and more. With a runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, Dhurandhar breaks records as the longest Hindi film. The film is expected to release in more than 5000 screens in India, and considering the hype around the film, it looks as if it will be the biggest film of 2025.
