Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Gujarat was a heartwarming one. His visit took a heartening turn as he inaugurated and explored Reliance’s Vantara, one of India’s largest wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation centres. The prime minister inspected the rescue facilities, treatment and specialised care at Vantara and had the best time feeding and playing with rescued animal cubs, orangutans, elephants, and more.
Recently, during his visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Vantara Wildlife Rescue And Rehabilitation Centre. Nestled within the Reliance Jamnagar Refinery Complex, this 3,000-acre sanctuary is home to over 1.5 lakh rescued animals from more than 2,000 species, providing them with specialised care and a second chance at life.
PM Modi was seen cutting the rope to inaugurate the rescue facility, and he was attended by Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani, and Radhika Merchant Ambani. After the inauguration, the Prime Minister’s tour began at Vantara’s wildlife hospital, an advanced medical facility equipped with MRI, CT scans, and ICUs for the rescued animals. The hospital houses specialised departments, including wildlife anaesthesia, cardiology, nephrology, endoscopy, dentistry, and internal medicine, all tailored for animals.
During his visit, the prime minister observed a majestic Asiatic lion undergoing an MRI scan. He also visited the operation theatre, where veterinarians were performing surgery on a leopard that had suffered injuries in a road accident.
After his tour of the high-end hospital, PM Modi set out to explore the rescued wildlife at Vantara. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Anant Ambani, who spearheaded the launch of the 3,000-acre animal welfare initiative. He also had encounters with some rescued exotic species, including chimpanzees, orangutans, okapi, hippos, zebras, giraffes, and a rhino calf. He also saw a two-headed snake and a two-headed turtle.
The prime minister also visited the world’s largest elephant hospital, where elephants are given jacuzzi therapy to ease arthritis and foot ailments.
