Muzammil Ibrahim is an Indian model who has become a heartthrob after appearing in the remix version of Pardesiya, alongside Rakhi Sawant. He has also ventured into acting with Dhokha, Special Ops and more. But the shift was not so smooth and pleasant as he thought it would be. He claimed to be mistreated and having a mentally draining experience while working on his debut Bollywood film, Dhokha. He accused Pooja Bhatt, the director of the movie, of creating a hostile environment on set, leaving a lasting impact on his life and career.
During a recent conversation with Hindi Rush, Muzammil Ibrahim recalled his 'traumatic' debut film shooting experience. He stated that Pooja Bhatt made it very difficult for him to work on Dhokha (2007). He accused her of bad behaviour, using curse words and torturing him in numerous ways. However, despite all that, he couldn't leave the project as he was the sole breadwinner of his family, who had relocated from Kashmir to Mumbai, relying on him.
Regarding Pooja's behaviour, Muzammil said that she behaved in an 'immature' way and considered actors to be dogs. He also said that everyone, except Pooja, was very nice to work with. However, it was Pooja's rude attitude that tormented him. He even accused Pooja of playing the 'woman card' to tarnish his reputation after being unable to control him. Recalling his experience, he stated:
"She played woman card to put me down. Her attitude was that, 'Actor should be like a dog. If I ask you to sit, you sit; if I ask you to stand, you stand.' She was very immature. I don't know what made her behave like that, but today I am the same age as she was during the making of Dhokha, and I know that if today I will have to deal with a 20-year-old, I will treat them with care."
The actor shared that the Bhatts treated him like 'mard' (adult man); however, Pooja was treated like a kid, when she is 20 years older than him. He considered it illogical and felt the partiality was unjust. He cited instances of 'Bhatt sahab' turning a blind eye to Pooja's rude behaviour on set, even when he knew it was not the right thing to do. According to him, the Bhatts try to break the confidence of outsiders through ill-treatment.
Muzammil claimed that the Bhatts, especially Pooja Bhatt, had attempted to sabotage his stint in Bollywood, citing two reasons for the same. The first one was that he refused to be moulded in a certain way by her. She was annoyed by his resistance and wanted to break him. The second reason was Muzammil's refusal to work on more projects with the Bhatts. He shared with Hindi Rush that he was offered 3-4 more films after Dhokha; however, his experience with them led him to turn them down.

He mentioned that Alia Bhatt's mother, Soni Razdan, tried to persuade him, and Mahesh Bhatt was eager to cast him in Raaz 2. However, he couldn't work with them anymore and had to decline a project, which might have given him a significant career break. According to him, they took revenge on him by planning a 'media assassination' and getting lots of negative articles published about him. Muzammil alleged that it was a deliberate attempt to 'sabotage' his career, which ultimately succeeded. He shared:
"They want us to be their sycophants, but I refused to do so. I didn't bend, neither did I break and eventually went through the consequences. They published several articles against me to sabotage my career. They tried to create a perception against me like 'he is hard to work with' and 'has attitude'. It actually worked for them."
Although Muzammil Ibrahim worked on a couple of projects after his rift with the Bhatts, he never attained the level of success he hoped for. For that, he blamed Pooja Bhatt and her vengeful move against him. He further shared that it had killed him not to be able to speak out openly about his experience, due to the fear of being boycotted by the industry. Mentioning that it still haunted him in the form of insomnia, he said:
"It scared me. It was very torturous and mentally draining time. The experience triggered insomnia. I still suffer from it."
