Pooja Bhatt is counted among the most bankable directors of Bollywood and is responsible for shaping the careers of many Bollywood heroes. The elder daughter of director, Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja had ventured into films in 1989 by playing her first leading role in the television film, Daddy. Pooja was just 17 when she made her acting debut.
Later with films like Sadak, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Junoon, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, Chaahat, Tamanna and many more, Pooja had become the most loved Bollywood actress of the 90s. In 2003, Pooja Bhatt made her directorial debut with the film Paap, after which she made four more directorial ventures like Holiday, Dhokha, Kajraare and Jism 2.

In 2003, Pooja Bhatt had produced, the blockbuster film, Jism. The movie starred the bong bombshell, Bipasha Basu, and it also introduced model and Gladrags Manhunt Contest winner, John Abraham in the lead roles. Jism was a huge blockbuster hit, and John Abraham became a national crush. In an interaction with Kusha Kapila for Tinder India’s Swipe Ride, Pooja Bhatt shared an incident, which left her thinking.
Recalling the same, Pooja shared that while filming the intimate scenes, when Pooja narrated the plot to Bipasha and asked her whether she was comfortable with the love-making scenes. To Pooja’s surprise, John interrupted her and questioned her why she didn’t take his consent too. Recalling the same, Pooja shared:
“I did a film with Bipasha Basu and we launched the gorgeous John Abraham. I was actually directing the love scenes and stuff. I went to explain to them what was required. I am telling Bipasha ‘this is what you need to do, and if you are not comfortable…’ and John just looked at me and said ‘Excuse me! Does somebody mind asking me whether I am comfortable doing this?’”

This incident left Pooja in shock and had made her realize that filming an intimate scene can be equally difficult for an actor too. Recalling how she was left flabbergasted by the incident, Pooja continued:
“It was like somebody threw a bucket of cold water on me. How presumptuous of us women to think that it is only the women who feel awkward in an intimate situation. The poor men!”
On the work front, Pooja Bhatt was last seen in the web series, Bombay Begums!
