While they were planning to take their relationship to another level and were ready to take the plunge in 2019, the news of their break up shook everyone including the industry. Confirming the news of their break up, Ssharad was quoted as saying, “There were personal issues from my end. I tried to make the relationship work, but our differences were irrevocable. Pooja is a nice girl and it was great till it lasted. I wish her all the best.” Pooja revealed the real reason behind their split and stated, “Ssharad started acting weird around six months ago when he suddenly became inattentive and disinterested. However, I assumed that it was because of stress at work; I couldn’t fathom that he was planning to end the relationship.”
In an interview with the SpotboyE, Pooja candidly spoke about her relationship with Ssharad and what happened between the duo. When asked if she proposed marriage to Ssharad, she clarified, “I never asked him for marriage. In fact, he was asking me to marry him. Frankly, even I wouldn't be able to tell why he did what he did. Really, God knows what happened. When probed further, since how long he had been asking her for marriage, Pooja revealed, “He has been asking me for marriage from Day 1. He even spoke to my mom about it--- and then vanished. Again, he popped up the same question after six months.” She further continued, “This was almost a repeated thing that was happening- he would ask for my hand and then after few days, say, 'No, I am not ready for marriage yet. When asked why she didn’t marry him as he kept asking her to do so, Pooja shared, “If someone asks you to marry him and then changes his decision at the drop of a hat, why and how would you marry him? Aaj tak he hasn't called my mom after he disappeared following the interaction with her when he asked her for my hand. Would you believe it that just a month ago, he again asked me if I could marry him.” She further added, “I retorted: "I never asked you for marriage. I never asked you even for a commitment. Sharing the flashpoint moment, Pooja revealed, “He came and told me said that he is dev gan and I am rakshas gan. He said that according to his astrologer we shouldn't get married else something terrible will happen. I tried to reason with him that his astrologer has not told him the right things, but he wouldn"t listen. Woh toh Kasam TV serial ka story hai, usne mujhpe chipka diya. I even told him that what if I would prove that the dev gan and rakshas gan thing he is selling me is not true. You see, I am manushya gan and not rakshas gan. I asked him if I give him the facts, would he marry me? And you know what? Despite so many conflicts between them, when asked why she continued to date him, Pooja cited, “Yes, I was dating him for a long time. But now, I am paying for it na? But you know, that's also because he told me that a couple of things were not going good in his life. He told me that his father was ill, and he can't raise the topic of marriage in his family.” Pooja went on to say, “Time kept rolling by and I failed to see his intentions. I thought jab karni hogi usko shaadi mere saath toh kar lega. Pooja Bisht also shared what her parents thought about her boyfriend Ssharad, and said, “To be honest, when they came to know of my relationship with him, they told me: You know what he did to Divyanka na? Lekin maine unko bola, we all have different equations with different people and he should not be judged on his previous relationship.” She added, “Today? Today, my mom is very angry. FYI, we haven't matched kundlis from our side yet. When asked if it is easy for her to forget him, she retorted, “Well, I did everything for him and I feel pity that people are talking sh** about him.” About Ssharad leaking their break up news in media, she said that she was aware of it, and remarked, “I have given 200 per cent in my relationship with Ssharad. I had been so patient with him. He has many mood-swings. I am very hurt. Our relationship was one where we were like two best friends. We shared everything with each other. Clarifying the reports that an astrologer asking him to not marry her, and he didn't want to continue as a lover either, Pooja was quoted as saying, “Yeah, but what would have been the sense in that relationship? A relationship which based on what an astrologer thinks! And so, he stopped feeling the connect with me!” Claiming him to be egoistic, Pooja said, “Haan lekin ab main kya bolun? Lekin haan, conclusion toh yehi nikal raha hai. When asked if Ssharad was cheating on her, Pooja stated, “I have never said that he was cheating per se on me. But yes, he was behaving very funny since the past 45 days. He was meeting her behind my back, He lied to me that he met only because his manager fixed up the meeting. And you know what? That girl changed her Insta handle within hours after I confronted Ssharad on her. Worse still, when I told him to show me the screenshots of his chat with that girl. The way everything happened with her was the same it happened with Ssharad Malhotra’s ex-girlfriend, Divyanka Tripathi. Talking about the same, Pooja retorted, “Yes, I am aware. What more can I say? Adding it further, Pooja said, “He is very complicated. He doesn't know what he wants to do in life. He wants everything and wants many 'yes' men around him, he doesn't want people who have an opinion. In his relationships there is only one person- and that is he himself, the other person does not exist,.It became very difficult to adjust with him anymore.”
On being asked, if the break up came as a blessing in disguise, Pooja remarked, “Now of course, I would say 'yes'.” When asked if he ever hit her, Pooja revealed, “No, never. But he used to yell at me.” Talking about if he ever forgot Divyanka, Pooja explained, “I don't know. We hardly spoke about Divyanka, maybe just once or twice. Ab jo chala gaya so chala gaya, main usko kya poochti rehti? If he was faithful to her during their relationship period, Pooja answered the question, “I think he was. It was just this Insta girl which added to our problems.” When asked if they had trust issues, Pooja replied, “We never had trust issues.” Elaborating on his mood swings, Pooja said, “Sometimes very happy, sometimes very angry, sometimes didn't want to talk. Has she now become a man-hater, Pooja retorted, “No. Why would I start hating men just because of one guy who is marriage-phobic and has problems? But why would every other guy be like him?” When asked if Ssharad is a man who doesn’t want to take responsibility, Pooja further went on to say, “Is he a teenager? He can't go on playing with people, again and again.
