Bollywood actor, Prateik Babbar's life has a permanent void, which was created after the death of his late mother and legendary actress, Smita Patil. There isn't a single second when Prateik doesn't miss his mother, Smita's presence in his life. Recently, Prateik Babbar got his mother's name inked on his 'heart' to be with her forever.

Prateik Babbar is the son of yesteryear actor-turned-politician, Raj Babbar and late actress, Smita Patil. The actor lost his mother at a very young age and he hates the fact that God took her away from him 'so soon'. We remember in the year 2016, he had penned an emotional post for his mother's death anniversary and had shared in it that he is proud of being her son.
On April 27, 2021, Prateik took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture of him flaunting his new tattoo. In the photo, we can see Prateik posing with his pooch and showing off his late mother's name tattoo, Smita. Alongside it, he wrote, "Inked my mother’s name on my heart. smita #4eva." On May 13, 2020, Prateik Babbar had taken to his Instagram handle and had posted a beautiful monochrome picture of his father, Raj Babbar with his mother, late Smita Patil from one of their movies. The image had bought back all the golden memories of the two stars of the Indian Cinema. Along with the mesmerising photo, Prateik had written,"#wbw #wayback #Wednesday meet the parents #flashback #greatness.”

For those who don't know, Prateik was raised by his late maternal grandparents, Shivajirao Girdhar Patil and Vidyatai Patil. After his mother, Smita Patil had passed away at the age of 31 due to childbirth complications. It was quite tough for the actor to cope up with the loss of his mother but his grandparents had played a crucial part in his upbringing and are the reason why he’s too close to them.
In an interview with The Times of India, Prateik had also talked about the pain of losing his grandmother. He had shared, "The whole process of losing her was terribly painful. She has given me immense love and all I wanted to do was make her proud, and make her part of my success. I couldn't live up to it and that made me very angry. I was full of self-pity and was dodged with questions about my life. I wondered why people liked me. Was it because my mother had died? Did they feel bad for me? Maybe, they liked me for all these reasons and not because I was a good actor. All those thoughts tore me apart. After my grandmom passed away, I realised how everything in the past was pretty much my fault, and I had got it all wrong. But over time, I have made peace with myself and all those thoughts are behind me now. I only have gratitude for my parents and others around me."
