Ya Jaane Na heartthrob debutant, Prateik Babbar, son of yesteryear superstars, Raj Babbar and late Smita Patil, had tied the knot with his girlfriend, Sanya Sagar. The Ekk Deewana Tha star had finally found his deewani, and they had decided on ‘happily ever after’ on January 23, 2019. Prateik and Sanya had known each other for 8 years before they had started dating. Well, looks like one need not look far to find a perfect life partner, he/she might be beside you. A year before getting married, Prateik Babbar and Sanya Sagar had exchanged rings in the presence of their close family and friends. Promising for a lifetime of togetherness, Prateik and Sanya had exchanged rings in an engagement ceremony that had taken place at her farmhouse in Lucknow. Announcing his engagement, Prateik had captioned his ‘just engaged’ picture with Sanya as “#monday.. holy snappp!.. that just happened!" To which Sanya (who is by the name of 'pynkmoss' on Instagram) had replied, “Yus baby” followed by a heart emoticon.

More than a year into marriage, looks like things aren’t going quite well for Prateik Babbar and Sanya Sagar. According to a SpotboyE report, Prateik and Sanya have been living separately for the past couple of weeks and have even unfollowed each other on Instagram. While Prateik has deleted his honeymoon pictures with Sanya from Instagram, the latter’s absence from the get-togethers and celebrations at the Babbars raised the speculations of their separation. However, when Prateik was asked to comment on the conjectures, he refuted them and said that there is nothing like that.
Writer-director-editor, Sanya Sagar, who is known for her culinary skills, had arranged for a seven-course Lucknowi meal on her engagement, which included rajma, Prateik’s favourite dish. Prateik had proposed to the love of his life in December 2017 during a music festival in Goa. Revealing details about his engagement to the Mumbai Mirror, Prateik had said back then, “Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She’s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn’t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. It was in 2019, when Prateik Babbar and Sanya Sagar had changed their ‘in a relationship’ status to ‘married’. Prateik and Sanya’s Marathi wedding had begun with haldi and mehendi ceremonies. The then-bride-to-be had looked as radiant as a ray of sunshine in a yellow maxi dress which she had accentuated with matching tassel earrings and a floral tiara. Prateik had opted for a subdued cream kurta and had paired it with an emerald green dupatta.

For their wedding, Prateik Babbar had looked dapper in a cream kurta, which he had teamed with a golden pagdi. Prateik brought home his fiancée as his wife after marrying her as per Maharashtrian rituals. Sanya had made for a beautiful bride in an orange nauvari saree which she had completed with fine gold jewellery. The newly-married couple had hosted a vintage-themed wedding reception post their Maharashtrian marriage. While Prateik had looked suave in a vintage pin-striped suit, a vintage cane and a hat, his wife Sanya had looked stunning in her flapper-girl homage with a feathery, sheer dress that she had teamed perfectly with her feathered headgear.
Prateik Babbar had missed his late mother, Smita Patil on his wedding and had shared that she would have had been the happiest person if she was around. He had remarked in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, “I constantly feel her presence, she is my guardian angel and guiding force.” In a career span of over a decade, Prateik has a list of hit films and web series in his kitty. In an interview with the IANS, Prateik had revealed how he found his calling in acting and had stated, "I was just 19 years old when I did my first film and had no plan to act, or to become an actor. It was like a paid holiday so that I could earn good pocket money and then party more with my friends. When I finally found my calling, I started learning and enjoying the craft.
