Pratyusha Banerjee's Ex BF, Rahul Raj Singh, Recalls Her Shocking Death, 'She Was Alive, But...'

Pratyusha Banerjee was one of the most talented actresses in the Hindi TV industry. She was widely known for her role as 'Anandi' in the hit show, Balika Vadhu. She also appeared on the popular reality show, Bigg Boss 7. However, in 2016, the Balika Vadhu actress hanged herself to death. Now, her ex-boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh, recalled the shocking incident and shared some unheard details surrounding her untimely death at the age of 24.

Rahul Raj Singh reveals Pratyusha Banerjee was alive when he found her hanging

For the unversed, Pratyusha Banerjee died by s**cide on April 1, 2016. In a recent interview with Free Press Journal, Rahul revealed that the actress was alive when he found her hanging at her Mumbai home. Rahul shared that he was the first one to reach the spot, and with the help of a locksmith, they tried to open the door. When Pratyusha didn’t open the door, after they rang the bell, Rahul sensed something was not right. However, when the locksmith witnessed the actress hanging, he got nervous. Recalling the shocking incident, Rahul said:

"I was the first one to reach it, and with the help of a locksmith, we tried to open the door. We were trying to open the gate because even when I rang the bell, she wasn’t opening it. When he opened the door, and I looked up, she was hanging in a black satin dress. It was very bad. I gathered my courage and took her to the hospital. She was alive while I was taking her there. I even tried to give her CPR, but she didn’t make it."

In the same interview, Rahul shared that Pratyusha’s state of mind was not right when they met for the first time. The duo dated for 10 months. Rahul claimed that during their relationship, he came to know that Pratyusha’s dad was a bad person and used to abuse her. He also mentioned that two to three days before Pratyusha’s death, her dad had abused her over the phone. Recalling their last conversation, Rahul said:

"In our last conversation, I was asking her, Why are you feeling so bad? She said she doesn’t like to hear abuse. So I asked, Who is abusing you? She said it’s her father who is abusing her. When a father abuses his daughter, it affects a lot. I also have a daughter, so I imagine if I am abusing her, how bad would she feel? Pratyusha used to tell me, ‘I am earning, and my father is spending all that drinking alcohol.’ How bad is that? It affects people’s minds."

Further in the same interview, Rahul opened up about the things that he had to face after his ex-girlfriend, Pratyusha’s death. He shared that after she passed away, everyone, including the actress’s parents, accused him of murdering her. He was not allowed to go to the cremation ground. He mentioned that the entire blame was hurled upon him, after Pratyusha’s untimely demise. He was quoted as saying:

"When all this happened, they put the entire blame on me, and the investigation went completely off track. They didn’t even let me go to the cremation ground. These people kept saying, 'He is the murderer; he killed her; he hung her.' What motive would I have to hang her? Did I come to Bombay to kill my own girlfriend? People kept saying these things, and even today, I am called a 'murderer.'"
