For those who don't know, Preity Zinta has always led a very simple and low-key life. Although she is a tremendous actress in the Hindi film industry, she also had her fair share of troubles, and her journey wasn't a bed full of roses. When the actress was only 13 years old, her dad, Durganand Zinta, breathed his last in a car accident, and her mom was seriously injured. When the diva was 15, her mom also passed away, but the actress continued to work hard to make her name in the industry.

However, in 2009, on her 34th birthday, Preity gave herself an adorable gift. The diva decided to adopt 34 orphans from the Mother Miracle orphanage in Rishikesh.
In an old interview with a leading daily, Preity Zinta talked about adopting 34 orphans. The actress shared that she would be looking after these 34 girls' entire upbringing, including their education costs, food, clothes, and more. Talking about these adorable kids, Preity mentioned that it literally melts her heart and fills it with joy when she hears them chattering excitedly. She also called these 34 girls her children and her responsibility and shared that she would be making a visit to them twice a year. Preity mentioned:
"I've adopted 34 girls. I'll be looking after their entire upbringing from education to food, clothes etc. You've no idea how wonderful it feels to hear the excited chatter of all these girls together. These are my children now, my responsibility. I'll be constantly connected with them and I'll visit them twice a year."
In the same interview, Preity Zinta mentioned that she had always worried about the condition of the girl children from the less privileged classes and wanted to help them. The actress also shared that the constant news about foeticide and child abuse was scary for her. Preity added that she would adopt more children over the years, and adopting these 34 girls marked only the beginning for her.

It was back on November 18, 2021, when Preity took to her IG handle and posted an adorable selfie with her husband, Gene Goodenough. Sharing the photo, the actress revealed that they had become parents to two adorable twins, Jai and Gia, via surrogacy. The actress also thanked the doctors and nurses who helped them throughout the entire journey. She also showered love upon her well-wishers for all the good wishes and prayers.
