Priscilla Presley Opens Up About Ex-Husband, Elvis' Infidelity, 'He Was A Good Husband But...'

Priscilla Presley, an American businesswoman and actress, has garnered considerable attention for her personal life. She was married to the 'King of Rock and Roll', Elvis Presley. The duo shared an age gap of years, but were head over heels in love with each other. Priscilla was just 20 years old, when she tied the knot with Elvis. The former couple got married on May 1, 1967. Now, in a recent interview, she talked about her former husband’s infidelity and how those things had an impact on her.

Priscilla Presley breaks her silence on Elvis Presley's infidelity

In a recent interview with Today, Priscilla opened up about her ex-husband, Elvis Presley’s infidelity. She shared that although he had been unfaithful, he was very, very special to her. She mentioned that their life were very different from each other. She also shared that they had a second home in Palm Springs, where she would visit when Elvis went to Las Vegas to ensure everything was in proper order. She was quoted as saying:

"Our life was very different, you know? Very, very different. And when he was in Vegas, you know, he was really starting his career back again into Vegas. We had a home in Palm Springs, a second home, and I would go there to check it out when he was in Vegas to see how it's doing. If it's clean, if the maids had cleaned everything before he comes home."

Recalling the days, Priscilla revealed that when she went down to their second home, she found letters in the mailbox. The letters were sent to Elvis from the girls who used to visit him at weekends. She expressed that the letters used to make her upset, as she strongly disapproved of them. She mentioned how Elvis led another life and tried to be a good husband in front of her. In her words:

"When I checked the mailbox, I saw mail from all girls. I'm reading the mail, and the things that I was reading I really disapproved of and didn't like. They would go and meet Elvis at the house on weekends when he went, and it was another life. Now, he would come home great and wonderful. He was still a good husband but it was just too many of us."

Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley's divorce

Priscilla was just 14 years old when she crossed paths with Rock and Roll singer, Elvis. The couple dated each other for seven and a half years before tying the knot in 1967. When Priscilla was seven months pregnant, the 'King of Rock and Roll' asked her for a trial separation. However, after their daughter, Lisa Marie, was born, things changed drastically as Elvis was unable to share the bed with his wife, Priscilla. During this turbulent phase in their marital life, the two had been involved in numerous affairs.

In 1972, Priscilla left Elvis, and their divorce was finalised in 1973. The two ensured that their decision to separate wouldn’t affect their daughter, Lisa and thus shared joint custody. In a past interview with Loose Women, Priscilla shared that she did not divorce Elvis because she stopped loving him. She made the decision to discover life on her own. In her words:

"I did not divorce him because I didn’t love him. He was the love of my life, truly. If anything, I left because I needed to find out what the world was like."
