Priya Slams Karisma's Daughter Samaira's Claims Of Not Paying University Fees, '95L Per Semester..'

Sunjay Kapur's demise back in June 2025 sparked a sense of disbelief and grief around, and following this, a messy legal dispute began within his family, which, in recent times, has grabbed a whole lot of attention. Karisma Kapoor, who is Sunjay Kapur's ex-wife, filed a lawsuit against Priya, accusing her of forging and asking for an equal share for her kids in their dad's Rs. 30,000 crore estate.

Priya Kapur slams Karisma's daughter, Samaira's, claim of not paying university fees

Following this, a long legal battle is ongoing with both parties making some shocking claims. A few days ago, a lawyer from Karisma Kapoor claimed that her daughter, Samaira's, university fees were unpaid, as her ex-husband's manager didn't clear the payments. Now, Priya's lawyer slammed such claims as she showed a receipt for already paid fees during the court hearing. If the reports are to be believed, on November 21, 2025, the court was hearing Samaira and Kiaan's plea against their stepmom, Priya, regarding Karisma's daughter's inability to pay university fees.

Reportedly, it was during that time that Priya's lawyer, Sheyl Trehan, showed the receipt from Samaira's university, detecting that Rs. 95 lakh fees per semester were already paid. For the unversed, Samaira studies in the US and her educational expenses were taken care of by Sunjay Kapur. As per the alleged receipt, the next instalment is due in December 2025. Priya's team reportedly called Karisma Kapoor's kids' claim of not paying university fees to be a 'publicity stunt'. Reportedly, the judge reprimanded both parties, calling it a melodrama and stating that she doesn't want to question the court again, which is turning the hearing into a melodrama.

It was only a few days ago, when Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira Kapur questioned Priya's deed about including her daughter, Safira's name in Sunjay Kapur's will, when her biological dad, Vikram Chatwal, is alive. Mandhira Kapur has mentioned during a recent podcast that it's Samaira who is Sunjay's daughter, not Safira, who is the daughter of Priya and her first husband, Vikram. She even slammed Priya for rewriting the lineage, claiming that there's no denying the fact that Sunjay cared for his stepdaughter enough, but it was wrong for Priya to even try to take over when Samaira is present. She said:

"How are you even doing this to that family? Nobody is denying that my brother cared for Safira. But don't take over when Samaira is there. Don't name Safira ‘the daughter'. She is the stepdaughter. Stop rewriting lineage."

Karisma Kapoor's lawyer tagged Priya Sachdev Kapur as 'evil stepmom'

Earlier, during a conversation, Karisma Kapoor's lawyer, Mahesh Jethmalani, accused that Priya limited the inheritance meant for Karisma’s kids, Samaira and Kiaan. He didn't hold back from slamming Priya, stating that she's a Cinderella stepmom, and even tagged her as 'evil' by claiming that she already has 60 per cent to her name, with 12 per cent of her own son, and 75 per cent of the company's trust. Mahesh Jethmalani also shared that Priya has been in a whole lot of hurry as she, according to him, started writing letters about Benami forms, which are used to decide beneficiaries of companies.
