Priya Marathe, a famous actress of the much-loved serial, Pavitra Rishta, passed away on August 31, 2025, after battling cancer. The gorgeous actress had been in the industry for several years, having made her debut with the Marathi serial, Ya Sukhano Ya, followed by Char Divas Sasuche. Her big break came with her role in Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande's serial, Pavitra Rishta.
Priya's demise has left a void in the hearts of her fans, and the television industry is mourning the loss. There's no denying the fact that Priya's death at such a young age surely would take a toll on her family members, and especially on her husband, Shantanu Moghe. So, amid this, let's have a look at Priya and Shantanu's love story. Priya got married to Shantanu back in 2012, and they had been together for 12 years, until death parted them. The duo's love story isn't a typical filmy one, but something that people would call destiny's call.
Shantanu Moghe, also an actor, met Priya Marathe through a mutual friend at a party. Reportedly, the couple was going through their share of struggles back when they met. Soon after they met, something sparked between the duo, as they discovered they shared a similar philosophy, which helped them understand each other easily. Following their first meeting, they eventually began to hang out, and ultimately, they fell in love with each other. Reportedly, Shantanu proposed to Priya in a filmy way, and it was in 2012, when they tied the knot in a close-knit ceremony. The duo didn't have any children, and they often took to their social media handles to share photos with each other, which served as a testament to their fairytale love story.
Talking about Priya, in an interview with Esakal.com, Shantanu once said that Priya was a very loving and kind person, who was very friendly with their family members and all their friends, even those who were not close to the actress. Priya, on the other hand, mentioned that Shantanu is a loving and thoughtful person, and he's never afraid of anything; even if something didn't go according to his wishes, he wouldn't get upset. Priya also said that her husband is always a logical person who thrives on starting afresh, fighting against the odds, and standing strong.
Shantanu often tagged Priya as his 'bestest friend' on several posts. The duo's bond was strong, and their love story was also marked by mutual love and respect for one another. After Priya's death, the news circulated, and people rushed to her social media and found out that her last post featured her husband. The photo was from one of their trips, and it is unimaginable the grief Shantanu is currently navigating. Reportedly, Priya was battling cancer, which took her life.

Son of Marathi actor Shrikant Moghe, Shantanu was also a part of movies like Enigma – The Fallen Angel, Ravrambha, Lokshahi, Carry On Maratha, and Shoor Aamhi Sardaar.
