The Delhi High Court is currently looking into the plea filed by Bollywood actress, Karisma Kapoor and late businessman, Sunjay Kapur's two children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj. The kids sought the court for a share in their father's estate, which is estimated to be around Rs. 30,000 crore. The court was in session on September 10, 2025, but all the parties involved expressed their concerns through their respective lawyers. And now, three months after the passing of Sunjay Kapur, his widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur, has made her first public appearance.
Sunjay Kapur's widow marked her first public appearance since being mangled in the legal mess over her late husband's massive estate. Priya Sachdev Kapur stepped out in public for the first time after Sunjay's death to attend the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) Annual Convention at the Taj Palace in Delhi. Several pictures of her attending the event have surfaced on social media, sparking online speculation about the ongoing case and her role in Sunjay's company.
Priya Sachdev Kapur was inducted into the ACMA's Executive Committee for the 2025-26 term. Her updated professional bio now reflects her position in the company, effective from September 12, 2025. Her participation marks a significant moment, as it signifies her official entry into one of the industry's top forums. However, the timing of the move raised several eyebrows as it came amid a legal battle over Sunjay's crore estate, with his children, Samaira and Kiaan.
Priya Sachdev attended the ACMA meeting in the capacity of director of Aureus Investment (AIPL) and non-executive director and chairperson of the CSR committee at Sona Comstar. Sunjay also held the same position of chairperson at ACMA.
Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani represented the two children of Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur. On the other hand, senior advocates Rajiv Nayar and Shyel Trehan appeared on behalf of Priya Sachdev Kapur. Senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar represented the interests of Sunjay Kapur's mother, Rani Kapoor.

Senior advocate Akhil Sibal represented Priya Sachdev and Sunjay Kapur's minor son. Justice Jyoti Singh directed Priya Kapur to file her replies to the plaint and posted the matter for further hearing on October 9, 2025. The official court statement could be read as:
"Issue notice. Reply within two weeks, with a rejoinder one week thereafter. Along with replies, Defendant 1 (Priya) will file a list of all movable and immovable assets known to Defendant 1. Assets to be declared as of June 12, 2025. Next date of hearing is October 9, 2025."
The case was filed by Karisma Kapoor's children after Priya Sachdev presented a will that left her the sole beneficiary of Sunjay Kapur's wealth. The will, signed on March 21, 2025, raised several questions, as no one except Priya seemed to be aware of it until it was read during a family meeting on July 30, 2025.
