Priyadarshan And His Ex-Wife Lissy Start Living Together 10 Years Post Divorce, No Plans To Remarry

Legendary filmmaker, Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi were separated for more than a decade. However, recently the ex-pair decided to give themselves and also their relationship another chance. Well, ever since Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, were seen at the wedding of legendary director, Sibi Malayil’s son in 2025, there has been speculation that they will reunite.

Priyadarshan confirms patching up with his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi

Priyadarshan, in an interview with Mid Day, confirmed patching up with his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi. Neither of them was bound by the institution of marriage, and except for a marriage certificate, they have been living the same life together. A source close to the couple also told the publication that Mammootty had met the pair in Chennai. The source revealed:

"Now the reunion is official. After hearing news of them patching up, Mammootty asked them to come to Priyadarshan’s studio in Chennai where he was dubbing. The actor has known both closely as he worked with Lissy on several films, and has been directed by Priyan. He told them that he was happy to see them together again.”

The megastar, taking time out of his busy schedule, met Priyadarshan and Lissy, reportedly also at Lissy’s studio, Le Magic Lantern, in Chennai. Mammootty has been voice recording for director, Mahesh Narayanan's movie, Patriot, that showcases the on-screen reunion of Mohanlal and Mammootty after 17 years.

They were also happily interacting with one another at the venue, and rumours of their reunion surfaced when both were seen posing together with Malayalam industry megastar, Mammootty.

Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, had been living separately for more than 10 years. Now, they have decided to give their relationship another name, and instead of being chained to the societal expectations and varied norms, both have been living out of wedlock. They are hoping to complete the remaining chapters of their lives that they had abandoned in the middle. Well, the source close to the publication also revealed that Priyadarshan and Lissy's children- Kalyani Priyadarshan and Siddharth, played a very important role in rekindling their relationship, the source also revealed that the ex-pair has decided to not get married again. The source shared:

"This decision was taken six to eight months ago. The couple won’t remarry. To them, marriage is just a certificate; friendship, companionship, and love are more important."

It was in 1990 when filmmaker, Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi had got married. At that time, both of them were at the peak of their careers, and she had given up acting. Post being married for 24 years, they opted for separation in 2014, which was finalised in 2016. In a media statement, Lissy had called her divorce as ugly as their marriage and said:

"Ours was the only exception where it was often a fierce and uncivilised battle on and off the courts until a compromise was reached at the Honourable High Court, Chennai. Perhaps the ugliness of our divorce proceedings says all about the kind of marriage we have had."

Lissy also revealed that in recent times, all celebrity divorces — from Hrithik Roshan and Sussane Khan, Dileep and Manju Warrier to Amala Paul and AL Vijay- mutually agreed divorces took place. She revealed it may have been painful even for the pair as they had decided to respect one another.
