Priyanka Chopra Was Hurt By Her Previous Partners' Dishonesty, Says, 'Respect Is Different From...'

Priyanka Chopra opens up about being hurt by the dishonesty of her previous partners

Priyanka Chopra recently sat for a conversation with Harper's Bazaar and shared what sort of man she wished to have a family with. The actress revealed that she had a list of non-negotiables for the man she was with, which was hugely inspired by the failures and mistakes from her previous relationships. During the chat, Priyanka stated five qualities she wanted her person to possess, the first being honesty.

Priyanka revealed that she was hurt by the dishonesty of her partner in her previous relationship. She further added that she wanted her partner to appreciate the value of family and take his own and her profession seriously. The actress' fourth and fifth non-negotiables in her partner were for someone to be creative and share the drive and ambition she has. She was quoted saying:

"The first was honesty because there were times in some of my previous relationships when I’d been hurt by dishonesty. The second was that he had to appreciate the value of family. Third: he had to take his profession very seriously, because I take mine very seriously. Fourth: I wanted someone who was creative and had the imagination to dream big with me. And fifth: I wanted someone who had drive and ambition as I did."

In the same conversation, Priyanka Chopra Jonas further revealed that she wouldn't have married her now husband, Nick Jonas, if he hadn't fulfilled these conditions. She further stated that love and respect were different things. The actress concluded by making a lighthearted comment about how one has to kiss numerous frogs before they find their prince. She was quoted saying:

"I wouldn’t have married him if he didn't. You have to look for someone who respects you. Respect is different from love and affection...You’ve got to kiss many frogs until you find your prince."
