Parineeti Chopra tied the knot with her beau, Raghav Chadha on September 24, 2023, at a royal wedding in the presence of their respective families and close friends. However, her cousin, Priyanka Chopra chose to skip the wedding due to her professional commitments. But being a loving sister, PeeCee ensured to pen a heartfelt wish for her baby sister on her new beginnings and shunned the possibility of any bad blood between them.
On September 25, 2023, Priyanka Chopra's wedding photographer, Joseph Radhik took to Twitter and shared some pictures of the actress' bridal look. Taking an indirect dig at Parineeti Chopra, the photographer pointed out how brides these days are going for dull colours at their weddings. Not just this, he also praised PeeCee for wearing red on her D-Day and penned:

"So much chatter on my timeline about Indian brides letting go of colour. Well, I remember taking photos of THIS stunner who embraced colour. Ain't nobody like my desi girl!"

However, as soon as Joseph Radhik's tweet went viral on the internet, netizens were shocked to see how the photographer pitted Parineeti against her own cousin, Priyanka Chopra. When a Reddit user shared a screengrab of Joseph's tweet on the discussion portal, social media users started trolling the latter for the same. Reacting to the post, one user penned, "He is so tone deaf and disrespectful, he is being distasteful about PC's own cousin by putting PC's wedding looks against her." Another user commented, "Wow! So cheap of him to do this on the day or after Parineeti's wedding!"

When the situation got out of hand, Joseph Radhik immediately deleted his tweet from his official X handle. However, he even penned a clarification note and stated how his previous post about Priyanka Chopra's bridal look was misinterpreted. Joseph shared another tweet, which can be read as:
"Twitter is so bitter that a positive tweet about one style/person/ thing is always seen as negative towards another. It's insane how much hate/outrage there is here. FWIW, I love Indian weddings, they are MY happy place. Neutral, colourful, loud, quiet, intimate, crowded...all."
For her D-Day, Parineeti Chopra opted for designer, Manish Malhotra's white and golden lehenga with a long veil. She accessorised her look with emerald jewellery, which included a huge choker, matching earrings, and a maang teeka. Her customised kaleeras and a pink chooda added stars to her look. Flaunting her love for neutral colours, she went for everything minimal. Moreover, while brides these days go for elaborate mehendi designs, Parineeti got a minimal design etched on her palm.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas tied the knot in two grand weddings as per their religions in December 2018 at Umaid Bhawan Palace. After exchanging the wedding vows in a Christian ceremony to pay homage to Nick's culture, the couple took saat pheras as per Priyanka's Hindu religion. Priyanka had set a new trend by going all-red for her bridal ensemble, as she opted for a red-hued Sabyasachi lehenga. Pairing it with a red choli and matching dupatta, PeeCee went for heavy kundan jewellery for her wedding. Her stunning look for her Hindu wedding became a trendsetter as it was indeed a royal bridal look.
