Priyanka Chopra believes in staying connected to the roots and is trying to imbibe the same qualities in her baby girl, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Recently, Priyanka organised a special puja on her late father, Ashok Chopra's death anniversary, and her daughter happily helped her decorate. Priyanka has been close to her father, but his death shook her. The actress admitted that she went into depression after her father's death.
On July 10, 2013, Priyanka Chopra's father, Dr Ashok Chopra, left for the heavenly abode after he fought cancer. On July 10, 2023, Priyanka organised a puja for him at her home. She decked up her daughter, Malti, in a gorgeous pink lehenga with a tiny dupatta. Priyanka shared an IG story, revealing how Malti found her belly button in the lehenga.

In the next photo, Priyanka's daughter, Malti, was seen helping her mommy decorate the place for puja. She looked adorable as she played with flowers while lying on the floor. In the next photo, Priyanka held her daughter and was seen praying to her father, Ashok Chopra. Atop it, Priyanka wrote:
"Miss you nana."
Priyanka has always been a strong girl, thanks to her military parents and the discipline she followed throughout her life. When her father passed away, instead of dealing with the loss, she kept burying it. In her memoir, Unfinished, Priyanka revealed that she kept working and thought that her work would heal her. In reality, it only made things worse for her. An excerpt from Priyanka's book could be read as:
"Five days after Dad died, the day following my father's chautha, 'Mary Kom' was scheduled to begin shooting, and although the film's producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, offered to postpone the start date, the sense of duty and discipline I'd inherited from my father and his twenty-seven years in the military wouldn't allow me to accept his offer..."
Priyanka Chopra's father, Dr Ashok Chopra, passed away in 2013, after battling cancer. He was a physician in the Indian army. Priyanka, who was super close to him, got the words 'Daddy's little girl' inked on her wrist in his handwriting. Priyanka never leaves a chance to hail her daddy, and how he was the biggest cheerleader in her life.
