R Madhavan is one of the few actors who have gained immense popularity in the Hindi film industry as well as the South Indian film industry. His calm demeanor, honesty, and impressive acting skills have helped him find a way into people's hearts. Coming from a middle-class Tamil-speaking family, the actor worked in television before moving into films. His films like Rang De Basanti, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, 3 Idiots, Tanu Weds Manu, and more have cemented his position in the industry. The actor who carved his path with his hard work in the Hindi film industry recently revealed the most horrifying moments of his career.
R Madhavan debuted in films in 1997 and has worked on acting for different mediums like TV, films, and now OTT. He recently sat down for an interview with SCREEN and admitted getting nervous as the film's release dates come closer. He further revealed that working on the first day of the shoot and beginning the promotions were the most horrifying moments in his career. Sharing the reason, he said:
"The two most horrifying moments for me in my career are when I have to do the first day of shoot, it is getting progressively difficult. And second, the first day of publicity and release, because everybody looks at you, and I feel everyone is saying, 'Nuhuh, you have lost it, that's it, game over.'"
The Shaitaan actor added that working on OTT platforms is more liberating after experiencing box office pressure in cinema. It rather allows them to work on presenting more character-driven stories, and he feels grateful for it.
In the same conversation, R Madhavan shared that it's not easy to work and find success for 25 years in the film industry. He highlighted that rather than this long time, people will become obsolete in 25 months, and the industry will move on from them. Consequently, he is also grateful to survive this long while playing the main lead roles. He admitted that the praise from the audience motivated him to continue working and improve; otherwise, it would have been lost in the same sea by now.
R Madhavan was last seen in the Hindi film Shaitaan, co-starring Ajay Devgn and Jyothika. He is currently promoting his upcoming Zee5 film, Hisaab Barabar, co-starring Kriti Kulhari and Neil Nitin Mukesh. It will be released on January 24, 2025. He also has an untitled film with Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday in the pipeline.
