'Sister Midnight' Actress, Radhika Apte Was Insulted By Ekta Kapoor Over Dating Her Brother Tusshar

Radhika Apte is one of the most versatile actresses, who has done a variety of roles in a short span of her career. The film also won a Golden Camera nomination at the Cannes Film Festival.

Radhika Apte’s dating rumours with Tusshar Kapoor

 During the making of Shor In the City, Radhika was cast opposite Tusshar Kapoor and rumours were rife that the two were in a relationship. Apart from the film’s story, it was Radhika and Tusshar’s chemistry in the film that left the audiences mesmerised. Soon, it was believed that Radhika and Tusshar were head-over-heels in love with one another.

Ekta Kapoor took a dig at Radhika Apte and humiliated her

While Tusshar and Radhika’s dating rumours were making noise, Ekta Kapoor’s controversial statement about Radhika proved the rumours to be true. During her appearance on Koffee With Karan along with her brother, Tusshar Kapoor, Ekta joked about the former's taste in women, taking a dig at Radhika. A source from the show’s set said:

“Ekta got a chance to take potshots at Apte during the rapid-fire round. When Tusshar was asked to rate his top five s*xy actresses, he named Kareena, Priyanka, and Katrina and then broke off to think. Ekta then interrupted and said, “Radhika Apte”. At this, Karan Johar asked, ‘Who is this Radhika’ to which Ekta sarcastically said, ‘Exactly! Who is she?’ Ekta went on to joke that Tusshar had a bad taste in women and called Radhika ‘horsey’ beautiful.”

Radhika Apte reacted to dating Tusshar Kapoor and called it a promotion tactic

When Radhika was asked about her link-up rumours with Tushar Kapoor, the actress denied being even friends with the actor and stated the rumour to be a publicity stunt. Speaking to Mashable India, she said:

“I had gone to London to study contemporary dance. Saibo became a huge hit so they called me back for promotions. Then they only spread some link-up rumours about me and Tusshar. It obviously wasn’t true. I didn’t know (about the promotion tactic). Initially, I was very entertained, because I got an article that I was apparently in Goa celebrating Valentine’s Day with Tusshar Kapoor, and I was studying for my exams in London.”

Radhika Apte’s response to Ekta Kapoor’s remark

When Radhika Apte graced Neha Dhupia’s celebrity talk show, No Filter With Neha, she shared that she had no idea about the comments made by Ekta Kapoor. The Sacred Games actress revealed:

“When that happened, I was in London studying dance. I still really don’t know why this was said because I met her (Ekta Kapoor) after that, and she was lovely to me.”

Radhika Apte married Benedict Taylor, a London-based musician in 2012, and in 2024, the couple welcomed a baby girl.
