Raghu Dixit Marries 16 Years Younger Grammy-Nominated Flutist, Varijashree Venugopal, Photos Surface

Musician and singer, Raghu Dixit, a few days ago, made it to the headlines, as reports suggested that he was all set to marry his 34-year-old lady love, Varijashree Venugopal, a notable flutist, singer, and music educator. He later confirmed the same, during an interview with TOI, without confirming the exact date. Well, the couple got married on October 14, 2025. Several photos from the duo's close-knit ceremony made rounds on social media.

For Raghu, it's his second marriage. He was earlier married to choreographer and dancer Mayuri Upadhyay from 2005 to 2019. In the year 2019, Raghu's marriage with Mayuri ended, after which he found love again in the arms of Varijashree. The duo's friendship began, and eventually their love bloomed and finally turned into a strong union, as they share similar interests and can connect deeply.

The wedding of Raghu Dixit and Varijashree Veugopal was attended by several celebrities, including actress, Yamuna Srinidhi, who took to her social media handle, and shared some glimpses from the couple's close-knit wedding. In the glimpses, Raghu and Varijashree looked delighted as they embarked on a new chapter of their lives. For the day, Raghu donned a yellow-toned vesthi with maroon borders.

Varijashree looked pretty in an orange-toned saree, which she teamed with a blue blouse and traditional wedding jewels. In some of the glimpses, the couple was seen taking part in their wedding rituals, and the snaps are love-filled. Apart from the actress, Yamuna, Raghu and Varijashree's wedding was also attended by Ayyo Shraddha, among others.

It was back in February 2025, when Raghu shared a photo of Varijashree on social media, while praising her for her Grammy nomination. Back then, Raghu tagged her as his 'friend' and mentioned that he felt really proud of their bond. Eventually, that friendship seemed to have bloomed into something deeper; in a later interview with TOI, Raghu said he didn't think it would. He also agreed that they started as friends and that their friendship eventually turned into something deeper and more meaningful.

Why did Raghu Dixit divorce his first wife, Mayuri Upadhya?

Raghu Dixit married Mayuri Upadhya back in 2005, and after years of marital bliss, they started living separately in 2016, and their divorce was finalised in 2019. The reason for Raghu's divorce from Mayuri wasn't known, but sources revealed that it was due to Raghu's not being able to be a good husband. When Raghu was accused of se*ual harrasment by Chinmayi Sripada, Mayuri demanded strong actions so that no man has the courage to harass other women. Well, Raghu then came forward and mentioned that he was about to divorce his wife, and while she was a good wife, he couldn't be a good husband. To this, Mayuri mentioned that the case had nothing to do with the fact that she was going to divorce him. Raghu said:

"I am divorcing my wife, we have not been together from past three years, we are in the final stage of the divorce process. She's a good wife, and I couldn't be a good husband."
