Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is an incredibly renowned Pakistani vocalist who enjoys a broad spectrum of fandom, even in India, for his soulful voice. The artist is appreciated universally on account of his well-known tunes and Sufi songs. However, the singer is now embroiled in a controversy in which he is accused of hitting his house help with slippers for misplacing a bottle of alcohol.
In a viral video, popular Pakistani singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan can be seen hitting a boy with his slippers and demanding an missing bottle. The video was first shared by a Pakistani news channel, Samaa TV, who further explained that an alcohol bottle went missing from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s bar, which angered him. The singer was enraged and took things into his own hands and started physically assaulting the house help.

In the video, Rahat is dressed in black track pants and a matching tee, and his househelp is decked in a green-hued t-shirt and black trousers. The video is recorded by one of the many people who were present at the scene and served as mere spectators to the physical violence. Fateh Ali Khan kept on hitting the man even when he tried his best to defend himself from the clutches of the violence.

The video went viral in no time and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan soon issued a clarification video on the incident. The singer clarified that the man in the video is not his servant but a student who made a mistake, which is why he, as a teacher, was punishing him. The student intervened and added that the bottle contained holy water, which he had mistakenly misplaced. He further defended Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and added that as a teacher, the singer is allowed to school his students for their mistakes and punish them as he deems fit.

In the video, the students clarified that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan loves them and is an excellent teacher. He revealed that the singer later apologised to him too. Whoever recorded and uploaded the video was merely trying to tarnish the singer’s image.
