Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, a famous Bengali actor, passed away by drowning while he was shooting in Talsari, Digha. The report sparked a sense of shock with the unpredictability of the same. Rahul's death left the entire Tollywood mourning and in a numb state, led by the utter shock. Rahul was married to actress, Priyanka Sarkar. The duo's chemistry in their movie, Chirodino Tumi Je Aamar,  was unmissable, and the movie has a separate fanbase.

The movie was released back in 2008, and people instantly started shipping Rahul and Priyanka. Their fans' wishes turned out to be a moment of joy when the couple got married in real life back in 2010. While their bonding was a sweet one, trouble hit their paradise. Rahul and Priyanka welcomed their son, Sohoj. However, with constant ups and downs in their marital life, Rahul and Priyanka decided to part ways in 2017.

While they were separated, divorce was not legally filed, and they used to co-parent their son. It was in 2022 that Rahul and Priyanka sparked a reconciliation buzz with their frequent public appearances and social media posts. In 2023, it was revealed that the couple was stepping forward to give their relationship another try. And the reason for their reconciliation was said to be because of their son, Sohoj.

Speculations were rife that Priyanka Sarkar had an affair with a photographer, and undoubtedly, it raised a lot of chatter about her. In an interview dated back to 2019, Priyanka revealed the truth behind the buzz. Speaking to Sangbad Partidin, Priyanka revealed that there was nothing romantic between her and the photographer in question, Tathagata.

Priyanka Sarkar was told that it's very rare for an actress to select a photographer as a boyfriend. To this, Priyanka revealed that Tathagata was her best friend, and there was nothing going on between them. She was further informed that she prefers to work with him more because there's a chemistry between them, which is mainly work-related, as they both know each other's best shots in the professional field. In the same interview, she was asked if she and Tathagata were living together, which Priyanka denied, and mentioned that he is her best friend, and they have a genuine bond, nothing romantic.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee's tragic death left everyone shaken, and people are wondering what could be the possible reason for his passing, given that the waves of Digha, where Rahul died, aren't that massive. Recently, the director, Subhasish Mondal revealed that Rahul and her co-star, Sweta were shooting for a honeymoon scene, and the actor wanted unscripted drone shot. While initially, they were shooting in knee-deep water, Sweta was hit by a wave, and she came out of the sea instantly.

However, Rahul wanted another shot in deep water, and he, as per the director, didn't listen to anybody who asked him not to do the same. Shubhasish said that when Rahul was in deep water, he was hit by a big wave and then slipped and swallowed water. The entire team, along with the rescuers, jumped to save him. He reportedly responded twice before reaching the hospital, but was pronounced dead upon his arrival.
