Rahul Anuroday Banerjee and Priyanka Sarkar got married back in 2010. Three years after their marriage, the duo welcomed their one and only child, a son, Sohoj, in December 2013. However, after trouble began in marital paradise, the couple filed for divorce in 2017. It is worth noting that Rahul and Priyanka, after a few years, in 2023, decided to reconcile again, mostly for the sake of their son, Sohoj.  

Now that Rahul passed away at 43 on March 29, 2026, fans have been curious to know whether he had an age gap with Priyanka. Well, let us tell you that as of March 2026, she is reportedly 35 years old. This means that not only was Rahul older than Priyanka, but the couple also had an 8-year age gap. Yes, you read that right!  

Who is Rahul Arunoday Banerjee's estranged wife, Priyanka Sarkar? 

According to reports, Priyanka Sarkar was born on December 31, 1990, in Kolkata, West Bengal. Like Rahul, she is an actor. Priyanka's journey in the Bengali entertainment industry began when she was only 12 years old. Reportedly, Priyanka made her debut with the film, Dadar Adesh in 2005. Her breakthrough came a few years later, in 2008, for her performance in Chirodini Tumi Je Amar, where she was paired opposite Rahul Arunoday Banerjee.

Since then, she has appeared in a number of films, including Love Circus, Pratidwandi, Hangover, Hemlock Society, and more. Priyanka is also known for her work in Bengali soap operas such as Swapner Ring Nil, Khela, Nana Rangar Dinguli, and Aastha, among others.

After Rahul and Priyanka decided to divorce and remained separated for a few years, the late actor was romantically linked to several actresses, including Sandipta Sen and Rooqma Ray. In 2018, Priyanka opened up about Rahul's rumoured relationships. She revealed that she was depressed and going through a hard time. She claimed to have always given her 100% in her relationship with Rahul, whether before or after they got married.

Priyanka only decided to walk away from the marriage when things were not turning out as she had hoped between them. Additionally, according to Priyanka, her depression had got to such a point that it was affecting her son, Sohoj. This is why she ultimately decided to live for her son and not care about who Rahul was dating or linked with. She said: 

“I really don't know whether Rahul was dating Sandipta then or whether he is still dating her. Neither do I want to know. When I took the decision not staying together, it was a culmination of many things and not one thing in particular. And later, I came to know of many such names in Rahul's life but whether they are true or not, I have no clue. If it hurts my self respect, there's no point staying in a relationship. Later, I realised Rahul and I were not compatible.”
