The actor was just 43 years old when he drowned accidently at Talsari in Digha, near the Odisha-West Bengal border. His unexpected death brought immense grief to his loved ones and the Bengali film industry is mourning the untimely loss of a talented actor.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee’s last video before drowning surfaces

A video is now going viral which featured Rahul’s final moments before drowning. The video clip featured Rahul from the sets of Bhole Baba Paar Karega. The actor dressed in a green shirt, was seen performing a scene while being surrounded by a huge crowd of the show’s crew. Looking in his calm demure, Rahul tried to give a best shot, completely unaware that it would be his last shot.

How did Rahul Arunoday Banerjee die?

As Rahul was filming the television series, Bhole Baba Paar Karega, he completed his scene and after pack up the actor entered the water at Talsari. When he didn’t return for some time, the crew got concerned and went out to look for him. Technicians rescued him from the water, but he could not be revived. It was reported to be accidental drowning. When the actor was taken from the water, he was rushed to Digha hospital, but it is believed that he passed away before reaching the hospital.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee had a tumultuous marriage

Ever since the news of Rahul Banerjee's demise has gone viral, fans have grown curious to know more about Rahul’s personal life and his divorce from his estranged wife, Priyanka Sarkar. Rahul and Priyanka were the power couple of the Bengali film industry and got married in 2010. After seven years of marriage, the couple filed for a divorce in 2017. After their divorce, Priyanka revealed that her relationship with Rahul was not peaceful.

At the time, reports surfaced alleging that Priyanka demanded a large alimony payment from her estranged husband, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee. At the time, Rahul allegedly refused to pay such a large alimony amount and took legal action. Shutting the rumours, in a 2018 interview with TOI, Priyanka Sarkar revealed that she didn’t want any alimony from Rahul but wanted him to secure their son, Sohoj’s future financially.

Rahul Arunoday Banerjee was one of the most loved Bengali actors. According to reports, his acting journey began when he was only three years old as he performed in a play. After performing plays with many theatre groups, Rahul's breakthrough came with the show, Khela. He won people’s hearts with the 2008 film, Chirodini Tumi Je Amar. Other notable films he has appeared in include Love Circus, Shono Mon Boli Tomay, Aabar Aashbo Phire, Goray Gondogol, and a few others. Rahul’s television works include Tumi Ashbe Bole, Desher Maati, Swapno Udaan, Laalkuthi, and more.
