Rahul Bhatt is a well-known name in the world of fitness. He hails from the popular Bhatt family in Bollywood and is the elder son of filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt. Despite not following his father's footsteps, Rahul has often made headlines in the entertainment industry for his controversial statements regarding his family, bond with his father, Mahesh Bhatt and step-sibling, Alia Bhatt. Besides the sensational statements, Rahul has also been the force behind the physical transformation of several popular actors like Aamir Khan in Dangal and Kartik Aaryan in Chandu Champion. The fitness trainer recently spoke about his experience preparing Kartik Aaryan for his role in Chandu Champion and how the actor taught him about self-promotion.
Rahul Bhatt is known to be a man of few words, but his work speaks for him. After a long time, he sat down for an interview with Hindi Rush and opened up about his experience training Bollywood stars. For those unaware, Kartik left everyone stunned with his dramatic physical transformation in Kabir Khan's sports drama film, Chandu Champion. The actor trained for over two years to get a ripped body and the agility to portray the role of a professional boxer and swimmer on-screen. Everyone was stunned at the actor's transformation, and Rahul mentioned that the task wasn't easy for him. Sharing the reason, Rahul said:
"He didn't have any foundation in strength training. He also had to do boxing, which is a different skill set. He also had to go swimming. So it was a tough thing he pulled off. He's not an athlete. He's not Tiger (Shroff) or one of those guys. But he pulled it off."
Rahul also left everyone shocked by sharing that Kartik doubted his capability as a trainer in the initial days. Consequently, they didn't begin on a good note. He highlighted that to get better results, it is important for an actor to trust him, and gradually, things get better between them. The fitness trainer praised Kartik's sincerity and said:
"He'd doubt me a little in the beginning. I didn't get along with him, like I did with Aamir. You have to get along in this business. You have to surrender to your coach. That comfort has to be there. He was very respectful, very punctual, and a thorough professional again."
In the same conversation, Rahul Bhatt shared that he didn't just teach some things related to fitness but even learnt from him. Among other qualities, he learnt self-promotion from Kartik. The fitness trainer explained that Kartik is the smartest regarding stuff like PR, which is significant for success in the industry. In his words:
"There are a lot of things I've learnt from him, like self-promotion. Baap ka baap hai, dadaji hai, ye sab cheez mein. But I can't do what he can. Only he can do it. That's what it takes to be a movie star in today's time. If that's what it takes, then I'm not fit to be anything. I'm fit to be a pehelwan only."
Kartik Aaryan, who hails from a middle-class family in Gwalior, debuted with Luv Ranjan's Pyaar Ka Punchnama, which brought him into attention. He worked in a few more films but got his breakthrough with Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018. The actor also starred in Luka Chuppi, Pati Patni Aur Woh, Dhamaka, Satyaprem Ki Katha, Chandu Champion, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and more. Kartik will be next seen in Anurag Basu's untitled romantic film with Sreeleela.
