Rahul Bose is one of the most refined actors of Hindi cinema. His poise acting method has garnered him much attention over the years. After working in some English language films, Rahul Bose entered mainstream cinema in 2003 with the film, Jhankaar Beats. However, before Jhankaar Beats, Rahul starred along with Konkona Sen Sharma in the National Award-winning film, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer.
Apart from films, Rahul is a rugby player. He also played cricket and was coached by former Indian cricket team captain, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Over the years, Rahul has proved his versatility as an actor with films like Chameli, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Kaalpurush, Shaurya, Vishwaroopam, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bulbbul and many more.
Despite being such an acclaimed actor, Rahul has faced his fair share of struggle and humiliation. Yes, you read that right. Though he managed to get his first film without any approach, the actor was humiliated when he was not given a chair. During the promotion of the film, Berlin, Rahul recalled the same in an interaction with Lallantop.
The actor stated that he was the lead actor and the film had no heroine. But despite being the lead, he was never given a chair. Elaborating on the same, he said:
“I was the lead actor. I have never struggled; I went straight from the stage to playing the lead role, and the film had no heroine—it was just me. Yet, I was never given a chair on set. Sometimes I would sit on a road divider or a parapet as if it was no problem, but other people always had chairs. The producer, his sister, his uncle—everyone got a chair except me.”
In the same interview, Rahul revealed that he was determined never to face such humiliation ever again. He bought a chair and, to this day, carries it with him. Speaking about the same, Rahul stated:

“I went to a restaurant, and they had a fancy version of the chair that was on set. It cost Rs 10,000 about 30 years ago, but I got my own chair. Since that experience, I always bring my own chair to the set because I never want to go through that humiliation again."
Rahul Bose is a versatile actor, a good director and a screenwriter. But the actor is still single at the age of 57. From the age of 18, Rahul knew that he never wanted to get married. Speaking about the same in an interview with PTI, Rahul said:
“At the age of 18, I said I will never get married and my mother said, 'That's ok, we will see five or ten years from now'. If she had been alive today, she probably would have realised that I just knew."
