Virat Kohli ended up creating controversy as he mistakenly liked Avneet Kaur's photos on IG. He later clarified that it was not done on purpose rather IG algorithm did this. Following this, singer, Rahul Vaidya took a dig at the entire incident and got slammed by the cricketer's fans. After that, Rahul Vaidya called Virat and his fans 'jokers'. However, he again faced the brunt of trolling as he sang a song, which netizens thought to be his dig at the cricketer.
Taking to his IG handle, Rahul Vaidya said, "Virat Kohli’s fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!" as he revealed being abused by the fans of the cricketers. On May 6, 2025, Rahul again took to his IG handle and sang the song, Saari Umar Main Joker Banya Reha. While he didn't mention anyone's name or anything else in the post, in the caption, he wrote that this has been his favourite song since the last day.
As soon as Rahul dropped the video, Virat Kohli's fans lashed out at the singer. They slammed Rahul for his comments on Virat. One user commented, "Bhai ye sab karke na teri height badhegi na tera career bnega." Another user wrote, "Tera pe gana suit hota hai." A third user wrote, "Fame magne Tarika thoda casual hai."
After Virat Kohli mistakenly liked Avneet Kaur's photos, it created a clamour around. Later, Virat clarified that he didn't do it intentionally. Well, Rahul then took to his IG and posted a video, wherein he said that if ever it happens that he had ended up liking someone's photo, then it would be the work of the algorithm and not his, and the girl's PR should do nothing about it, as the entire blame is on IG algorithm. As soon as he posted the clip, netizens lashed out at him for his comments, which they felt to be a dig at Virat Kohli.

It was on May 1, 2025, when Avneet Kaur took to her handle and dropped some bold photos herself. To netizens' surprise, the post featured Virat's like on it, which was later removed. It came as a shocker to the netizens as Virat doesn't follow Avneet. Such an incident created a clamour around, and Virat came with the clarification that he didn't do it intentionally and that the algorithm might have misinterpreted an interaction, causing the like to be there.
Virat shared that he wouldn't want people to assume anything anymore about this. If the reports are to be believed, while this ended up being a controversy, it became favourable for Avneet as she gained 600K followers, along with 48 hours of trending with a 30 percent hike in engagement. She also reportedly had 12 brand endorsements after this incident.
