Raj Chakraborty Reacts To Fans' Wish Of Watching Dev And Subhashree's Marriage, 'Better If...'

It is noteworthy to mention that Dev and Subhashree are coming together after a long gap. On August 14, 2025, their film, Dhumketu released in theatres after a nine-year hiatus. Now, they have left their fans in a frenzy with the announcement of their upcoming project. Amid this, Subhashree’s husband, Raj Chakraborty's comment, raised many eyebrows.

It is noteworthy to mention that it was Bengali filmmaker, Raj Chakraborty who brought the duo together for the 2009 film. Now, after the release of Dhumketu, the fans of Dev and Subhashree, whom they lovingly call 'DeSu', are left in a frenzy. There has been a huge buzz surrounding the film, DeSu7. According to a report by BookMyShow, the film revolves around two souls who have a reunion after years of distance, silence, and unresolved differences. The upcoming journey of the duo is just the new, powerful beginning filled with deep emotion, intense romance, and high-octane action.

The weirdest wish that fans dreamed of was that it would have been better if Dev had been Subhashree’s husband in real life. Now, in a recent interview with TV9 Bangla, filmmaker and Subhashree’s husband, Raj Chakraborty, reacted to the fans’ wish. He was quoted as saying:

"I thought so too. It would have been better if Subhashree had married Dev. But Subhashree was in my head. I was in Subhashree's head too. Now there's nothing else to do. We are very happy. I believe that whoever gets married to Dev will also be happy. Dev is also a very good boy."

In a 2025 interview with Anandabazar.com, Raj was asked about his take on Dev, saying, "Raj is a lot like Dev". In response, the Bengali filmmaker said that Dev is also very much like him. He mentioned that both he and Dev had come from the same background. However, when the host dragged Subhashree’s name in this, "Raj said, "Dev's 'ex-girlfriend' Subhashree is my wife." He highlighted that everyone has a past, and thus it shouldn’t be discussed. He was quoted as saying:

"Dev is also very much like Raj. In many ways. Because we both came from the same background. Dev's 'ex-girlfriend' Subhashree is my wife. Every person has a 'past'. You may have one in your life, too. Would you like me to talk about it? People shouldn't talk about their past. It's not a crime. There are many memories in it, many positive aspects. That's why Monday's program is so beautiful, so successful. I respect it, I don't envy it."
