Raj Kundra Becomes The FIRST To Be Eliminated From 'The Traitors', Says, 'My Wife.... Was Right'

Raj Kundra became the first contestant to be eliminated from the newly started reality show, The Traitors, on Prime Video. The show is hosted by filmmaker, Karan Johar, and revolves around lies, trust and strategy. Raj’s early exit became a talking point, not because of drama, but because of how honest he was. Instead of playing the game by lying and saving himself, he chose to be truthful and leave. His decision stood out in a show built around secrets. 

Raj Kundra talks about his exit from The Traitors

The show follows the concept where contestants have to identify the three traitors and eliminate them. Following the same, Raj Kundra was a 'traitor' and was identified by the other contestants and by the second episode itself, he was eliminated from the show. He also shared that his wife and Bollywood actor, Shilpa Shetty, had told him earlier that he would find it difficult to play a game where lying is necessary. After getting eliminated, Raj agreed with her and said that he just isn’t good at pretending or fooling people. In his words:

"I came to The Traitors to win hearts & friends. As I take an exit, I feel that my wife is right. She says that I cannot lie to save my life, and it’s not who I am. I am glad that I stayed true to myself. I extend my best wishes to all the participants of The Traitors."

The Traitors is a new reality game show hosted by filmmaker, Karan Johar. The show brings together 20 celebrities from different industries like acting, music and social media. They all stay in a big house where they have to play a mind game. Some of them are secretly chosen as 'traitors' and the rest are 'faithful.' The faithful players try to find out who the 'traitors' are, while the 'traitors' try to mislead everyone and win the prize money. 

The show premiered on June 12, 2025, with the first three episodes and new episodes out on every Thursday. Some of the other contestants include Karan Kundrra, Raftaar, Jasmine Bhasin, Uorfi Javed, Apoorva Mukhija, Sufi Motiwala, Harsh Gujral and more. With so many well-known faces, viewers are excited to see how the game moves forward. Raj’s exit has already added a twist that nobody expected so soon.

Raj Kundra is a businessman, public figure and Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty’s husband. He has been in the headlines a couple of times for his work and for personal controversies. He was born in London and built his career through business ventures across different fields. In 2021, he was arrested in connection with a case involving adult content, which brought a lot of media attention. He spent some time in jail and was later, released on bail. 

His decision to join the show, The Traitors, shocked a lot of people as he had never been part of any reality show before. He probably also took a decision to change his public image after the recent headlines he made. On the show, he appeared pretty calm and composed and even though chosen as a 'traitor', he didn’t completely embrace the role. He struggled with lying to people about his identity.
